I have seen several questions here asking Atheists how we instill good moral values in ourselves and our families.

My question is the same for the Christians here in YA:

How would you instill good moral values in yourselves and your families without the existance of God or the Bible?

This is a serious question. I do not in any way mean to be offensive or rude.

Live and let live. Let people believe what they will. If beliefs gets someone through the week, the month, a year, or a lifetime, what does it matter to Christians or non-Christians as to what that belief is? Everyone has a belief of some sort. A great moral value for all to share, is to live your own life to the fullest and let others do the same!

I think your question is meaningless without God.

Moral is doing the right thing for the right reason. We can train rats to do what we consider the right thing but that doesn't make for a moral rat. The reason for doing the right thing rests on a moral authority and that has to be God. Otherwise this business of instill moral values is the equivalent of training a rat.

And if there is no God, what does productive mean? Is there anything in nature that cares who sits on the back of the bus?

There are many people that are not christians and they live honest, moral lives. How we live is a personal choice, but, according to God's standard we are all sinners.

But, if a person is "in Christ", he/she is a new creation, old things pass away, all things become new. A person that knows God and is a follower of Christ will want to live a moral life because the world and the things of the world have lost their attractiveness.

Are christians "sinless", no they're not, but they should "sin less". Why? Because "If any man/woman be in Christ they are a new creation". They've been born again, to walk in newness of life, a life that prefers light rather than darkness. And a life that prefers good over evil, and morality over immorality.

No offense taken. It's ignorant to believe that the only people who have good moral values are Christians. It's not good moral values that make a person a Christian anyway.

it is S. Sorry for the long answer. right here is the 2nd element of my answer. >it is style of a separate question, yet shouldn't all people be going to Heaven? If God is sweet, as Christians have faith, and if he's omniscient by using fact the Bible says, then why could he assume us to have faith in his existence? perception in His existence is beside the point (James 2:19). What concerns is which you repent (Acts 17:30, Luke 13:a million-5). >It would not make experience to me why a mass murderer who turns to Christianity could get into Heaven over a Muslim who's actively in touch in community provider initiatives and provides up themselves to people. that's a typical false impression. we do not know if the mass murderer convert will bypass to heaven or not. As for Muslims, a million Cor. 5:13 and a million Samuel sixteen:7. additionally evaluate Matt. sixteen:27. Does God pay off good deeds with incorrect? >merely a ill God could enable a killer in over a style hearted individual who practices a distinctive faith, that's hassle-free. Ah, yet He does look for people to maintain. What does it earnings Him if He merely looks for people who're already desirable status with Him (i.e. some Muslims)? evaluate Acts 17:26-27, Psalm 14:2, and Matthew 18. What He looks for in a guy is want. If that mass murderer shows want for Him, yet has a twisted attitude, yet makes a speciality of God, God will intrude. there's a distinction between strategies and spirit. See a million Cor. 2:11 and pastime 32:7-9 and consider Isaiah fifty seven:15-sixteen and Gal. 5:sixteen-17.

I guess I would be the same way I was before God found me.
I was lost in a world that took advantage of me and treated me badly because I was a wimp.Being the youngest and only girl of a family were only boys were worth anything it was wonderful finding out that God loved me so much that He sent His only Son to the earth and He took my sin & shame & He lifted me up, He even calls me His child.
But praise be to God I don't have the problem of finding out there is no God.
