You can do it in a 12 month period but that is some serious work. It just depends on how many best answers you get and if you ask any questions or not.
When I got to Level 5 I started asking questions like crazy because during the first 4 levels I refused to ask questions because I was obssessed with points. But then I quickly learned that asking questions is half the fun.
I am now a level 6 and I have been here 11 months. But I took 4 months off without answer ANY questions.

I have been a member for a little over a year but sometimes I just get so mad with this sight I don't answer any questions for a while like how do people with stupids answer get voted for when some one else has good answers I don't get! any way I just take a break once in a while for weeks or to busy to answer to busy with my own life so I may never reach level 7 but what is the last level list on the leader broad that is what I want to know!

I would say it takes about year depending if you ask many questions or not and how many best answers you get. I rather ask questions than hurry getting to the next levels.

Took me a year and a bit to hit level 6. Must have to have no life at all or they know some good ways to scam points.
