Because they are following their "religion" and NOT what the Bible teaches.

Perfect love casts out fear-1 John 4:18
NOT given the spirit of fear-2 Timothy 1:7
Not given a spirit of bondage to fear-Ro.8:15

So one of those things that make up a "religion" I guess.

God Bless you and keep you from all fear, too.

They have a lot of fear because they have bought into a lot of dogma that was created as a part of a system of control by men. Their version of God is very external and tough to access.

If these people actually took time to develop their relationship to God within themselves, and in so doing better developed the lines of communication to the greater Creator-God, then they would not be in fear.

People who are actually conscious of their own power as co-creators, have very little fear.

When you acknowledge and revere God within yourself you are ultimately practicing a religion of ONE. When you recognize God within everyone and everything, you are actually practicing a religion of ONENESS.

Religious people are not afraid of God but are afraid of failure in the mission that they believe God gave them: Live on Earth clean until you die and go to heaven.

I attached an interesting article in the source if anybody wants to read it and understand the true answer..
Thanks

Just the opposite. People who understand the Bible know that we have nothing to fear.

To fear God is to hate evil, which is to love God which is love. So godly fear=love=God, thus God=love=godly fear. (edited from fear to godly fear, though I meant godly fear by saying fear)

Reply to xgarm: The use of the word "fear" in the verses that you recite, refers to the fear of the world and of the law, not of God. The fear of God is a good thing; it's what keeps us from committing atrocities. "He will bless them that fear the LORD, [both] small and great." (Psa 115:13) Look at what Jesus Himself said about fear: "But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him." (Luke 12:5) So saying that ALL fear ought not to exist is incorrect, because the fear of God is valid.

NO.... Fear is lack of knowledge. People fear when they don't understand something. Knowledge is understanding something if you grasp the knowledge. If you do not then you will fear still.
