Your question assumes allot.
First off there are many different beliefs that are devoted to a God.
Only some of them describe God as a wrathful deity determined to destroy all of humanity that does not absolutly conform to his will.
When you sum up all religion as based on fear you are over generalizing in the extreme.
Those of Gods followers who use fear to convert are missing the point in my opinion. If you worship in God out of terror then how can you possibly embrace a message of love, tolerance and peace. Most do not use fear and those that do are doing a great dis-service to God and spreading a false message.

First of all, not all Christians r the same, anymore than all non-Christians r.
l have never used fear to convert anyone.
U r angry at a group of people that aren't all alike.
I tell people what (Jesus) Y'shua did for them because of love.
I tell people that when He comes in the clouds He will take me to the mansion He has built just for me.
I tell people of His Jewishness and that He is alive & well.
That He is the same today, yesterday & forever.
I have never used fear to try to get people to see my Lord or His love for them, truly God has not given me a spirit of fear, so I wouldn't be able to give that to anyone else. It seems that u r the 1 who is afraid, fear not for I bring u tidings of Great Joy. & I don't mean christmas.

God Himself warns the unbelivers and sinners to straighten themselves or else they will end up in hell fire.
Those who remind people such words of God in scriptures say to warn them and not to purposely creat fear in their hearts. No one is allowed to use force or intimidation to convert non-Muslims in Islam.
You know about other religions.

It is amazing isn't it?
they call God all powerful yet he allows the devil to try to snatch up our souls AND he doesn't even have the courtesy to show himself.....yet I better believe in him or i am headed to hell
funny thing is that i do believe in God tho just not the "you better behave or else" God that most I encounter do.
faith and logic do not go together lol

When facing eternity in Heaven, or staring head on at hell, would you believe in God? God is ultimate power! The power of God's love cannot be compared to anything else. God almighty can do anything he wants. Godfearing doesnt mean being scared. I am in total awe of him!

Because they've learned that threats are an effective strategy. Psychologically, it's just operant conditioning. Why they feel rewarded by converting people is beyond me, though.

I bet you live in America.
After watching videos about fundamentalist Christians there, I am undoubtably shocked at what so-called "Christians" do to make people "fear" for their lives using the analogy of hell.
No, people don't convert through fear. They convert because they're convinced that something miraculous has been done in their lives.
