The pregnancy of Coatlicue, the maternal Earth deity, made her other children embarrassed, including her oldest daughter, Coyolxauhqui. As she swept the temple, a few hummingbird feathers fell into her bosom. Coatlicue’s fetus, Huitzilopochtli, sprang from her womb in full war armor and killed Coyolxauhqui, along with her 400 brothers and sisters. He cut off her limbs, then tossed her head into the sky where it became the moon, so that his mother would be comforted in seeing her daughter in the sky every night.

"Kalama Sutta"
- Do not believe in anything just because you have heard it.
- Do not believe in traditions just because they have been handed down for many generations.
- Do not believe in anything just because it is spoken and rumoured by many.
- Do not believe in anything just because it is found written in your religious books.
- Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.

But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conductive to the good and benefit of one and all then accept it and/or live up to it.

I read that in the paper yesterday along with other disturbing statements. Do you still think they are the "true church"? Another tell tale sign of a cult.

The problem with most church people is they are too comfortable . They are judgemental and they are ineffective because they are stuck in a building. The
church is not a building the church is a group of people who gather in a building to strengthen each other in order to aid them through the week .
We won't ever be able to reach anyone if we stay in our comfort zone because
it is not about how you look, how you dress ,its not about going to a building ,or even being a preacher People should respect you without you having to announce that you are a christian. Your life should be such you don't have to wear a collar for people to know you are representing god but in a lot of cases we say one thing and live another and your actions say way more than anything that could come out of your mouth. Thats why children are acting up
you tell them one thing and do something else. You have live what you preach
and preach what you live and no one is perfect

Should God be punished for sleeping with Mary when she was wed to Joseph? The only alternative I can come up with is that He is one of those Do as I say, not as I do type of supreme beings. So much for being perfect, yes?

I'm a Lutheran, and some of my issues with Catholocism are

*wide spread idolotry- Every catholic church is filled with stautes and idols that people pray to, which is a grave sin.

*They worship a member of their clergy- the Pope.

WHERE in the Bible does it say to worship a pope?

*They have turned Mary into a goddess.

Where in the Bible does it say to worship Mary?

By elevating the Pope and Mary to divine staus, they are in fact worshipping Stan.

If Catholics want to avoid going to Hell, they need to stop worshipping the Pope and mary (guises of Satan), and start worshipping Jesus...

They just pay off the family and move the priest to a new parish out of state, it has happened. It's pure hypocrisy and politics.

The Big Bang Theory is wrong in every sense of its name!

First off, it wasn't big...it took billions of billions of years to get to where it is now, and it's still moving! Secondly it wasn't a bang...it happened in space, and in space it's a vacuum, and in a vacuum sound waves cannot travel leading to, I'm sorry, but no bang.

Your thoughts? Better names for the Theory?

Does not make creation true?

What it does is open the door to other scientific theories, and show that, once again, the scientists can be wrong, because they to are human.

This is why I try to disprove the Big Bang and Macro evolution.

But I don't stop there, because that leaves the void empty, I then show evidence for creation, which makes it a guess on how we got here. But I fully admit that disproving their theory doesn't make mine right. Just to point this out to the atheists and others, can we all agree?

Thanks,

- Jessica

I was always taught the message of Christianity was to worship Jesus, or burn in Hell.
Period..

This liberal coombuya hippie crap of helping people as a way to get to heaven had nothing to do with Jesus- he demanded worship.

My question is where in the Bible did Jesus say you didn't have to worship him? I was always taught if you don't worship Jesus, you'll burn in hell, no matter how charitable a person you are.

Good deeds don't get you into heaven.
Worship of Jesus does.

ok. . . I have to take the Sunday school group this Sunday and am kinda needing help or ideas.
So far I have decided on the topic... Made in Gods image (or at least a topic along that line) although am open to completely NEW suggestions!!!

My (possible)plan so far....
Game - Changes - in pairs - each child changes 3 things about the way they look and then turn to face each other and first one to guess all 3 wins.

Activity - Mirror image - take time for each child to look at themselves in a mirror and see how unique they are.

Talk / Discuss - Hats. . Hats do not make a person do what they do ie fireman/nurse/chef etc Its the persons decision to do it. Putting on someones else hat doesn't make us any more able to do their job either.

Please PLEASE help as I rally don't think im getting anywhere with this! IM STUCK!!

Group size about 8 - 12
Ages 8 - 10 ishhh

Throughout the synoptic Gospel, Jesus is called the "son of David". He is never called or linked with Michael or any other spirit being. An angelic identity for the Son of God is plainly excluded. If Jesus had pre-exisited as Michael, He could not by definition have been the lineal and biological descendent of David. To speak of pre-exisitence contadicts the Scriptures which show Jesus is coming into existence only at his conception in Mary. One cannot exist before one exists. Such an idea is illogical. the genealogical record given by Luke takes things even further back to Adam. Luke 3: 38. Revelation 22:16 Jesus defines his identity: I am the shoot and desendant of david and the bright star of the morning". Psalm 22: 10" from the belly of my mother you have been my God".
