No. You are not nuts.
Although English is a difficult language to speak, there is no other language that is spoken with the degree of detail in one sentence than any other language on the planet. Nearly each word has a specific meaning which cannot be interpreted to mean anything else, although there are few exceptions.
Once learned, the ability to communicate with others who speak and understand English is absolutely astounding in the accuracy of understanding and meaning.
Other languages are similar in expression, but interpretation can often be confused and misunderstood.
The English language IS a remarkable language to know.

Maybe, maybe not.
English is the language of business in a lot of industrialized nations today...so I could definitely see where you MIGHT prefer it from an economic/financial standpoint.
However, maybe you should consider a few things. Say, for instance, will your preference cause trouble between members of your family, your friend, etc.(?)
It's hard to accept being alienated from those you love the most.
Additionally, while some say that Ebonics is not language, that its a pidgin or a creole, or whatever...there are a large amount of people is certain communities that speak in that manner and ppl speaking American English to them aren't necessarily welcomed. Though I do know how to speak correct American English, when I'm with my people back in the old community, I revert to Ebonics, b/c its simpler and it's a comfort for me.
