Adam and Eve are improbably real. :)
Intelligent humans suddenly show up about 13,000 years ago. That's the beginning of the history of man. As a scientist I have to consider all possibilities and right now, the wildest one seems to make the most sense. So I think they were human and thats all I can say. In the beginning we were and we had no race. Race is a relatively new concept. We are all cut from the same gene pool and we have all evolved.
I guess I just realized that a lot of people think that blacks are the mother race. That impossible, all other races evolve but to think that one group stayed pure. That's silly, we all changed though separation gave us some interestingly different features we have all evolved. The truth none of us are the original race.

Not that it matters but yes they were black. The garden of Eden was in Africa. Really I could care less if they were mexican, japanese or white-race isn't a big issue. What really matters is it happened and Jesus died to make that sin right. I know some people are on the trip about Jesus being black or white- I DON'T CARE, as long as His blood was red and He died for whites, blacks, hispanics anyone of the human race who would accept Him.

Since Eden is thought to have been in the Middle East, it is likely Adam and Eve were fairly dark skinned, though not "black."

Does it matter? From what I understand, the point of the Genesis story is to teach us of our beginning with God and the fall that led to original sin and our currect state.

The first people originated in Africa.
That leads me to believe they were dark skinned.

It's hard to say..It would seem from mitochondrial DNA that they would have been dark if not black.

There is no way to be certain. If they existed at all, it is probable that they were dark-skinned with Middle Eastern features. Then again, God was said to have created Adam in His image, so who can say for certain?
