If your church is so Holy and every action is in accordance with God's Will, then please teach us. We want to know where you get the 'God' given right to kill non-catholics?

We are possibly unique in our ability to personify almost anything we'd like to. Boats and hurricanes and Golden Idols can all have the human traits we choose for them. Even children display the ability to invent a bodiless playmate. Is this how God was so easily created by man?

What are your thoughts? How plausible is the idea of a man-made god and does this in any way cause you to question the validity of your personal beliefs?

So what makes you think God looks like a Man and not something else... a mop on a stick for example?

Ok seriously ..... What image do you have in your head... when you think of God?

I'm just sayin... there are many instances in the bible that if a man were to commit said acts they would be tried for genocide or other crimes against humanity... So why if there were a god does he get blanket amnesty for these travesties?

Thanks to each and all of you that have answered but I'm still not getting it. I think the best answer came about using haber in the subjunctive tense but I don't quite understand it yet. I know the tenses of haber and know when to use it. But I'm still baffled about the spanish gramatical construction reasoning in this case.

Add to that BabbleFish gives me this and it seems possibly correct - "si tu había hecho lo qué te dije, habría podido tener 10 dólares ahora.

I'm missing something here and I think it's understing how to use the subjunctive tense of haber in this case. I want someone deep into spanish grammer not only to give me the "how to say it" answer (thank you for that but that's not my question) but to "unwind" it and go deep into spanish grammer and explain why this is said as it is and how it works grammaticly.

An example - If you had done what I said, you would have had 10 dollars by now.

I know how to say all but the "would have had" and need detailed help.

Here my take:

Our Solar System is just one of 100 billion of them in the Milky Way Galaxy. Our galaxy is just one of 35 or so in the local group. The obserable universe if believed to have BILLIONS upon BILLIONS of galaxies. So even life in the universe only comprises %0.0000001 of the star systems out there, that would still be millions of worlds. That being said, I think it's the height of arrogance that anyone would make an assertion that we're the only civilisation that exists.

BUT..

The NEAREST star system besides us is Proxima Centauri, which would take 4 years or so to reach, IF YOU WERE GOING THE SPEED OF LIGHT. Additionally, it would take 100,000 years to exit the Milky Way, millions of years to travel to other galaxies, and billions of years to travel to the other side of a universe that we can't even place boundaries on.

Plus, at one tenth the speed of light (around 100 million km/h),
(hold on, out of characters...)

I am not a JW but I wonder why so many people get so angry.I read about Jesus,it is clear that he went all over teaching. That is throughout the NT.That angered people that he taught what they did not believe to be true, they had their religions but he didn't give up.To the point of death from those who said he had no right to claim such things.Jesus was a false prophet to them.JWs are doing the same thing. Why the strong anger, hatred? They want to share what they believe can save us.It is true love & belief in Bible & what Jesus taught, knowing they will be laughed at,treated bad, they spend days & cont. as Jesus did.In the Bible Jesus says for all to spread the word! For the truth to be heard everywhere.JWs are the only ones I see doing this in UNITY.Jesus, Noah, people laughed, said they were were telling lies, sinners, not of God.JWs remind me of those stories in the Bible. Others sent by God but people didn't listen, they were even angery. It is like the Bible stories I've read, but 2007.

Many cultures have a mid-winter holiday/observance that deals with light. Does Islam have such a holiday? If it does, what are its basic concepts, and what symbols would be associated with its observance.

Many thanks!

I once saw a book, and it had a page dedicated to the evidence for evolution. The page was blank.

So I was wondering, does anyone have an example of actual evidence? No convincing missing links have been found. Neanderthals can't be used, because they may have actually had bigger brains than us and a Neanderthal living today wouldn't be seen as any different from anyone else. I can't really think of anything?
