I am not a JW but I wonder why so many people get so angry.I read about Jesus,it is clear that he went all over teaching. That is throughout the NT.That angered people that he taught what they did not believe to be true, they had their religions but he didn't give up.To the point of death from those who said he had no right to claim such things.Jesus was a false prophet to them.JWs are doing the same thing. Why the strong anger, hatred? They want to share what they believe can save us.It is true love & belief in Bible & what Jesus taught, knowing they will be laughed at,treated bad, they spend days & cont. as Jesus did.In the Bible Jesus says for all to spread the word! For the truth to be heard everywhere.JWs are the only ones I see doing this in UNITY.Jesus, Noah, people laughed, said they were were telling lies, sinners, not of God.JWs remind me of those stories in the Bible. Others sent by God but people didn't listen, they were even angery. It is like the Bible stories I've read, but 2007.

Oh, what I question most is the intense anger I hear from people about JWs. I just don't think they have done anything deserving of such hostility and anger I see from people about them. It makes me wonder so much more. Anger is strong and I just don't think knocking at a persons door to ask if they want to hear what they believe should stir such feelings in people. What is going on?

Honestly, many on here who make grandeous complaints and statements seem to be simply making statements. There is often little to no foundation.

In one question I found 2 answers explaining how Witnesses are Both active Nazis, AND should've been wiped out by the Nazis. Which is it?

Honestly, Jesus said that those who strove to follow him would be treated badly for it.

If you watch around the end of December this site will light up with questions about why we don't celebrate Christmas, the answer, we feel it pagan. I was amazed last year at how many angry responses there were to that fact.

Matthew 10:5-7 says: "These twelve Jesus sent forth, giving them these orders: “Do not go off into the road of the nations, and do not enter into a Sa·mar′i·tan city;  but, instead, go continually to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.  As YOU go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.’"
Matthew 28:19, 20 says: "Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit,  teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. . . ."

We, as Jehovah's Witnesses are following these two commands from Jesus Christ. And Jesus himself told us that we would be objects of hatred.
Matthew 10:22 says "And YOU will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name; . . ." And again in Mathew 24:9: "“Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name."
So this hatred we are shown is part of prophesy coming true. We are glad because of it, in the sense that we know what we are doing is the right thing. We know we are pleasing our God doing this work and wouldn't have it any other way.

it's sad that others JUDGE different religions. there are other churchs that actively spread the gospel (LDS missionaries) but why do the basic Christian churches neglect the spreading of the gospel? Standing at the alter preaching to the people already there isn't spreading the "good news" is it? I respect JW's for their faith but I don't subscribe to it. BTW, who was the author of hate and anger vs the author of love and tolerance? You should judge the tree by the fruit it bears....if someone preaches hate then that is the basis of their belief. Find someone who preaches love. Remember, families can be forever.

I am a J.W. and Jesus gave a good answer to this question.

The organisation that is properly doing what Jesus asked will have problems.

(John 15:17-19) “These things I command YOU, that YOU love one another. 18 If the world hates YOU, YOU know that it has hated me before it hated YOU. 19 If YOU were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because YOU are no part of the world, but I have chosen YOU out of the world, on this account the world hates YOU.

J.W's are united throughout the world, with no subdivisions or sects.

We do not get involved in politics...eg no voting..

We accept what authorities we finish up with, regardless of how bad. It is they who will have to answer to God for any mistreatment.

No other Christian group is hated with such passion.

And no one can explain why?

They do not ever feel the same about any other group.

It simply proves Jesus' words...

cause we are telling to the people what will happen with the earth after Armageddon during the rulership of Jesus Christ and how he will eliminate famines , wars , illness and all the problems mankind have and people hate that, they don´t realize that are hating Jesus and God´s kingdom.

Have you realize that nobody else know what will happen in the future after Armageddon with this planet?

"should stop predicting the end of the world." so that´s the reason for too much hate, wow, how many people have been killed in wars by the support of religions and they don´t hate that!!

It is not surprising that the Jehovah's Witnesses are hated. The Bible says that Jesus' true disciples should expect to such feelings from the world.

"Then people will deliver you up to tribulation and will kill you, and you will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name." -- Matthew 24:9

"I have given your word to them, but the world has hated them, because they are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world." -- John 24:14

The reason there is so much hostility from the Christian community, is because they have changed many basic things from the bible, like Jesus being the God made flesh. They can prove their point in THEIR Bible (Translated by JW's for JW's) that this statement is true. There are so many more, but I don't have time here. They have claimed 'divine inspiration', then turned around and denied they ever said that... though if you research their older material... they have.

Alot of people disagree with the way they present their religion, because it causes fear to many, and once you are ensnared in their way of life... you can lose more than just yourself.

Please talk to other people, like Unsilenced Lamb, that were JW's for such a long time, then freed themselves from it.

It is very close to many peoples hearts, this topic, and although they believe what they say and I can't blame them for it, I try and make sure others aren't mislead. This is my honest opinion and I know many won't like it... but that's my right. A Christian can see the devices of the enemy and has spiritual discernment... and I am using mine.

I love them as people that need Christ, to be saved, baptised and brought into their inheritance. But I totally disagree with many of their teachings on a biblical and doctrinal basis.

Take care, God bless

I am a Christian in the meaning that I believe Jesus Christ paid for our sins, and we can be forgiven, if we repent and truly ask, I believe everything in The Bible, and Jesus Christ told us to go be desciples, and witness to each other, we are not to sit still, we are not to hear the word, gain salvation, and do nothing, we are to share, and spread The Word, WE ARE GODS SERVANTS, and are CALLED.

Some people shut the door because deep inside they are afraid they may be wrong about what they already believe, and they truly don't understand, Christ has already paid the price for our sins, we just got to invite Jesus into our lives.
And quit turning The Lord away.

noah's story does not originate in the bible. it is a from a pagan epic of the persions.

people are angry with jw's because they NEVER EVER say they could be wrong, or were wrong. when confronted with their many failed prophesies they just say, "let the past be the past."

they have been proven to be a false church yet they claim to be the only true church. they work in unity because they are in complete subjection to the congregational elders.

here are some links you need to read:

people are angry because this is a cult that claims to be the true church. i'm not a christian so i don't believe there is a true church, but i do know that they meet a wide array of characteristics associated with cult groups

‪ The group displays excessively zealous and unquestioning commitment to its leader and (whether he is alive or dead) regards his belief system, ideology, and practices as the Truth, as law.

‪ Questioning, doubt, and dissent are discouraged or even punished.

‪ Mind-altering practices (such as meditation, chanting, speaking in tongues, denunciation sessions, and debilitating work routines, question-answer conditioning) are used in excess and serve to suppress doubts about the group and its leader(s).

‪ The leadership dictates, sometimes in great detail, how members should think, act, and feel (for example, members must get permission to date, change jobs, marry—or leaders prescribe what types of clothes to wear, where to live, whether or not to have children, how to discipline children, and so forth).

‪ The group is elitist, claiming a special, exalted status for itself, its leader(s) and members (for example, the group and/or the leader is on a special mission to save humanity).

‪ The group has a polarized us-versus-them mentality, which may cause conflict with the wider society.

‪ The leader is not accountable to any authorities (unlike, for example, teachers, military commanders or ministers, priests, monks, and rabbis of mainstream religious denominations).

‪ The leadership induces feelings of shame and/or guilt iin order to influence and/or control members. Often, this is done through peer pressure and subtle forms of persuasion.

‪ Subservience to the leader or group requires members to cut ties with family and friends, and radically alter the personal goals and activities they had before joining the group.

‪ The group is preoccupied with bringing in new members.

‪ The group is preoccupied with making money.

‪ Members are expected to devote inordinate amounts of time to the group and group-related activities.

‪ Members are encouraged or required to live and/or socialize only with other group members.

‪ The most loyal members (the “true believers”) feel there can be no life outside the context of the group. They believe there is no other way to be, and often fear reprisals to themselves or others if they leave (or even consider leaving) the group.

that's the jehovah's witnesses to a TEE.

i know they claim that their persecution is evidence that they are the true church, but what about all the other denominations that they themselves persecute? are not mormons persecuted? even atheists are persecuted by society for what they believe. should we consider atheism the "true" religion?

the scripture has been manipulated to control a mass of people and they do it very well.

I am a Christian and I am not angry at nor angry towards the JW's themselves but, I am angry at the spirit behind their doctrines. I believe they are sincere people who really believe they are in the truth as they call it but they are not. Yes outwardly they do a lot of good things like Jesus did but Jesus never lied, never changed the Word of God, He knew who He was and is, and He never told anyone they have to gain salvation. The JW's preach another Jesus and another Gospel just like the Apostle Paul warned about, they twist, distort and change the Word of God to fit their doctrines and beliefs and are leading people down the broad road to destruction. They are not doing this intentionally but are greatly deceived. My anger is with Satan, the deceiver because these people are dying everyday and they are lost and don't know it. They are unaware that they are counterfeit Christians. They are working to gain salvation which is impossible to do. They are a controlling organization over their people. They have given many false prophecies which caused thousands of people to lose their homes, businesses, and many did not marry or have children because they believed their false prophecies. Many people have died because of their false teachings about blood transfusions, their doctrines have changed over the years. The Word of God does not and has never changed. They are the blind leading the blind. But most of all they have made God a liar because they do not believe the truth of the Word as it is. Their bible is most damaging to the souls of those who believe it.
