pensarti e saperti mia

The church I attend allows (encourages) people to dance during the worship service. What do you think of that?

Many people argue that our founding fathers were "Christian" and therfore our country is a "Christian Nation". (I disagree, many of our founding fathers were FreeMasons & Deists, but I digress)

Our founding fathers were also white males. Does that make America a white male nation ? After all, they presided over a Nation where blacks were enslaved and women and blacks were not allowed to vote. They obviously thought white males were superior to everyone else. So using the "Christian Nation" logic, shouldn't we also say that America is a "white male nation " ?

(I don't think America is a "Christian" nation, or "white nation")

Anyone remember the George Carlin bit about shell shock vs post tramatic stress syndrome? Well I was thinking about it and other various word evolutions(I said the "E" word so it fits R&S) Do you think that we keep changing the words we have for meanings that never change in an effort to make OURSELVES feel better? Ya know, as opposed to "Not hurting anyones feeling" ?
Like Shell Shock, then Battle Fatigue, then Post Tramatic Stress Sydrome... the guy is still all f****** up and in distress no matter what we call it... do our PC words merely seek to gloss over the unpleasentness WE have thinking of it? Cause I am sure he doesnt care... Of course there are many terms we do this with... this was a single example... now I am rambling... or am I "Speaking on beyond the needed point?"

Maybe this is a rather odd post but I just read a book called The Embrace about Roderick Ferrell. It made me realize there are people out there all around that really believe they are vampires, or really enjoy deep roleplaying.

I was wanting to speak to one, if possible.

old problems except that you won't have the same religions trying to make you feel guilty for as much as breathing sideways.

In the faxsimilies there are two printings of a papyrus. Smith drew in an arm and knife on who he thought was Abraham. They show egyption characters that had nothing to do with Abraham. Smith is wrong on who they are. I went to the store to pick up a simple childrens book of egyptian characters and every character was accounted for plain as day. none of them were Abraham or any of the other names that smith gave. This HAS to rock your world. It HAS to. How do you handle it? sweep it under the rug? no bs please.

I'm currently a student who does not get much sleep at night and have a terrible habit of not getting up to pray Fajir that I am trying to change. I also feel bad waking up my roommate so early in the morning.

Is it permissible to pray Qada for Fajir when I wake up, or is there no good reason for Qada? If so, can I pray Qada before I pray Duhur or is it too late?

You know what I'm talking about. 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, The Va Tech shootings and the War in Iran are all evidence of God's being miffed about something or other.

Is it a general Christian Doctrine, or a Fundie thing, or just a couple of money grubbing wackos?

Would you, as a Christian, picket the funerals of American soldiers killed in the Iraq War? If so, why?
