yeah seen these before, very crazy but they only goin on wat the bible says, so are they really wrong in wat they say, not for me or u t judge god will do that.

Most Christians aren't nearly as extreme, hateful and bigoted as the Phelps family. However, they get so indignant about the bad name the Phelps gives to their religion when most of the stuff they say can be found right in the Bible. I find the Phelps to be very poor examples of the human race.
Razzle: ALL the AWFUL things the Phelps family does, and they aren't "true Christians" cause someone had a baby out of wedlock? Seems trivial in comaprison to their hatreds...plus I think a lot of young Christians mothers who had children out of wedlock would disagree with you about what makes a "true Christian".

Does it do any good to say that these people are not "true Christians"? They are if they say they are. They may not be GOOD Christians, but if they believe in Jesus and the Bible...they sure are Christians. For other Christians just to pass off their behavior as not being Christian is just ignoring the fact that SOME Christians are like this and there is a good reason why. Their behavior is just an exaggeration of many of the beliefs of some of you TRUE Christians. Take a good look and learn what believing what is written in the Bible with strong FAITH can do.

I saw this programme some time ago and I could not watch it to the end. They annoyed me so much. It once again puts Christians in a bad light. Small minded bigots who have no knowledge of God. They use their Bible as a weapon and take out of it what they think they need.............
Still this makes good or should I say bad T.V., they dont seem to put on just ordinary Christian families who go about doing everyday helpful things.....nooooo that would be boring, so they find some nutters who can make you angry.
All I can say is one day this family is going to be in for one hell of a shock......

these are those westbourough baptist people there are only like 100 of them if that and they have come up with their own weird interpretations of the bible like God does not love everyone that jesus only said God so loved the world because he was talking about not only jews but gentiles also. Even though in other parts of the new testemant it talks about a God who loved us. People in america are dying because they are at war, people die in wars FACT. Not because people are gay. It is not up to us to say whether they are true christians or not it is not our place to judge their hearts, lets just say that they go against what like 99.9% of the other so many billion christians in the world believe.

A man by the name of Fred Phelps has taken over this church, but they show no signs of Christianity. This man is sick and to be pitied. He shows every sign of being influenced by evil spirits. We are to hate the sin, but love the sinner.

this is not Christian at all- This is a very small family (and the entire church is made up of almost all family members) making a big noise. The majority of the Christian community, regardless of their denomination, including the baptists, find their behavior detestable.

They are absolutely bonkers.
They have just been successfully sued by the father of one of the soldiers whose funeral they assaulted. They may soon be absolutely broke, and bonkers.

I know the programme you mean and it shocked me too,I'm a christian,and all the Christians i know are noting like that.i think this is a group that have broken away and started their own church.

No not true christians...the mother had a child out of wedlock so as normal they are just religous spouting idiots who dont even follow there own rules and beliefs.
