Because people think that prophecies from the Bible are being fulfilled, and that once the world gets crappy enough, Jesus is going to return and build a new kingdom after he judges every human.

Well I guess if you believe in the end of the world we are getting closer by the day even if we dont know which day it will be. Also for christians a lot of the prophesis and the book of revelation are becoming more and more relevant and it can be seen in the world around us

Many signs in the Bible point to it. Not exactly the 'end of the world' but Christ's second coming and the rapture. and yes I believe that it is coming very quickly, though no man know's the exact date or hour. Only The Lord knows that!

Read your Bible- it is not the end of the world. The rapture of the church is upon us - but not the end of this world.
