but are there any Christians who would partake of it if it were legal?

I know that decency seems to be a lost art around here, but I have a story to make my point.

Recently a neighbor's house caught fire, and the family ran out onto the lawn. Of course I helped them, but the entire family was sickening for this reason:

Father & one son were completely shirtless.
Mother & daughter both in tank tops.
One son in a-shirt (sleeveless male undershirt, the one they call "wife-beaters")

I came to help them, but I was intensely offended.

I think that the government needs to express more control over common decency, and there should be fines for exposing yourself in public in these ways - REGARDLESS OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES.

I blame it on today's music and movies... People think they can get away with anything, and our idiotic 1st amendment protects them.

Anyway, about the clothes though, I think an order should be sent out requiring some sort of government issued pajamas or something... Have some class, people.

Yes, it's an excellent Metallica song, but this is actually a question. Throughout my life I've struggled. Struggled to love. I strongly appreciate what my parens and relatives have done for me. Yet, I'm always so bitter. I often find myself forcing love. I have to force myself to love my parents and friends. Not because I feel that love, but because I feel that I'm supposed to love them. It's what everyone else does, so I guess I should do it too. Was I just destined for the dark side or is there something I'm missing?

What if you live a humble, simple life. You go to work everyday, you are happy, you have many wonderful friends, a large loving family, you never commit any crimes, you help the poor, you excersise, eat healthy and donate your time and money to charities...and yet..you are an atheist because you dont accept Jesus in your heart. Your telling me this person has no chance of living an eternity with God, should he really exist?

So basically I am gay and he is gay. I met him over myspace and we have chatted over AIM. So, when I want to talk to him, he is kind of cold with me I guess. when I try to ask him things or just talk, is usually doing other stuff (I think); and when he answers me he writes just a few lines. I am trying to get to know him, but i mean WTF. Does it mean he is not interested on me?, does he think he is too hot? (well he could be better), is he playing hard to get?, seriously i dont know.

I just read the Jefferson Bible. Thomas Jefferson re wrote the bible, taking out all the "supernatural" thing in it, and soley focused on the teachings and the life of Jesus, as the bible writes it. It is a great read, and very interesting. Do you Christians find this to be a travesty that Thomas Jefferson improved your holy book?

Reasons abotion should be allowed:

Pregnancy as a result of documented rape.

Major birth defects in the child. (like no face or limbs kind of birth defect)

The pregnancy has a high chance of killing the mother.

If any other reasons present themselves, along the line of "I was young and stupid." "I am not ready for a child" or "The condom broke", then you should have the child and put it up for adoption.

I always here from Black groups like the 5 percenters and Nation of gods and earth that Blacks/Africans were the original jews.

I found an article stating that the original jews from the bible were African/Black. you can read it here:

http://stewartsynopsis.com/Isreal.htm

What is correct and how can sense be made of this? Were they black? or were they white? all of Israel looks white to me!
Thanks for all responses.

Donated money being spent in ways very few ever know about................

----------------------

Villagers furious with Missionaries:

Jubilant at seeing the relief trucks loaded with food, clothes and the much-needed medicines the villagers, many of who have not had a square meal in days, were shocked when the nuns asked them to CONVERT before distributing biscuits and water.

The baby is not part of the woman's body because from the moment of conception the child has a different DNA signature from both the mother and father and therefore is a separate entity from both the mother and father...that is a biological fact....

Biologically, there is no time from the moment of conception to the time one is born that it can be said that one is not human...That is a biological fact.

It is a fact because from the moment of conception one has 46 chromosomes which is the normal number of chromosomes for a human being...To date no other animal known on this planet has that number of chromosomes...Of course, that is 23 chromosomes from the mother and 23 chromosomes from the father...

So 46 chromosomes = Human Being....

And the obvious fact that both your parents are human, I suppose, for some of you at least..

just wondering.

I'm 18, and over the past few months I gradually have been giving up religion. I was never very much into it in the first place, but recently I finally realized how organized religion is crap. Reading more and more books about it, watching more and more lectures on youtube by the genius minds of Hitchens, Dawkins, and Harris. I'm now fully confident in my atheism.

but I still live with my overly religious parents. And my best friends are all religous. And this year (first year at university), I've met soo many amazing people that happen to be religous, and really don't wan't to sacrifice friendships and alienate people from me by being vocal about my atheism. I also don't wan't to get kicked out of the house, or lose all contact with my family.

Is their anything wrong with just 'playing along' with the idea of God to not rock the boat?

Is anyone else (young person) in a similar situation fearing the backlash of coming out as an atheist?

Please do not be offended by my questions, I am simply asking as an observor who was raised Catholic.
Do you think that there is a proper place for women in Catholicism?
I think that women are a side note - that the bible and theological answers are for supporting a patriachal society.
What do you think women's role is in Catholicism?
Is there a sense of equality?
Can women expect equality only in a domestic and reproductive atmosphere?
