I always here from Black groups like the 5 percenters and Nation of gods and earth that Blacks/Africans were the original jews.

I found an article stating that the original jews from the bible were African/Black. you can read it here:

http://stewartsynopsis.com/Isreal.htm

What is correct and how can sense be made of this? Were they black? or were they white? all of Israel looks white to me!
Thanks for all responses.

I personally believe that Jesus and the original Jews were tanned skinned like the majority of people in the middle east. I also believe all life started somewhere in the middle east as well (not africa) But, i wanted to hear from Jews of all shades of colors what they think about the statement made by blacks. I personally dont try to one up 1 race over another, However this article (and a lot of blacks) certainly try to! Anyway though, keep the responses comin!

Middle Eastern... like Jesus was..

And you can say,"Ohh no he wasn't." Jesus was from Nazareth. And where is that? Israel.. And where is that? In the middle east. Sorry to brake it to some of you, but He wasn't a cracker! Or black.

If you took the time to ask this question, then I can only assume that you REALLY would like to know the answer, but I have a question for you: Why does it matter?

The color of their skin has no bearing on their relationship with God, nor does it make any race superior or inferior to another. The Jews were God's chosen people not because they were black or white, but because they worshiped Him. Be proud of whatever skin color you possess and don't listen to all the other people out there just trying to one-up the race of someone else.

Have a great day!

If you go back to ancient times, the distinction of races was not focused on. Pigmentation changed in people as they migrated to different areas. For ex., in Europe (still coated in snow back then), people who had a lighter complexion were able to absorb vitamin D from the sun better than those with darker complexions. Therefore, white people became predominant there.
The people in the Mesopatamian region were all shades. Most likely the Jews were brown, with some black and some white.
Modern day Israel is a mixture of Ashkenzic, Sephardic, and Ethiopian Jews.

I'm not a Jew but I recently read in Graham Hancock's The Sign and The Seal about this. The Falashas are African Jews in Ethiopia. It is believed that Jews traveled there with the Ark of The Covenant in the time of Solomon, thus converting the locals. Think Queen of Sheba.
Some other interesting information is that shortly after this conversion they became isolated and practice the oldest form of Judaism.

I don't know what color they were, and I don't much care. I CAN tell you that DNA testing shows that Jewish male koheins carry the marker for the priestly lineage at a rate of about 80%, whereas male Jews of the general population carry it at about a rate of 10%. The color of the skin makes absolutely no difference to this ratio; white, brown/Semitic, and black koheins carry it in roughly the same percentages. That means they are all traceable back to the same common male ancestor (presumably Aaron); do you REALLY care what color Aaron's skin was?

Speaking of lies. You are on a roll. What do I think ? The Jews are Jewish. They are a race unto their own. Are there mixed Jews , of course. How can a whole race of people be THE devil? The tribe of Esau (Russia) has already been punished for it's Inequities. Because of people like you the USA is next. It is already happening.

well first of all they spelled "israel" wrong. But its a bit of an overstatement to say they were black. The lived in the middle of a desert = lots of sun = tans. There was also lots of intermarriages with people from Africa who were black. So its more like they were really really tan. And most Israelis today aren't black or tan because there ancestors came from Europe.

Who cares, you racist? All I know is that I left the supermarket tonight, as a 35 year old white male normally does. On my way out, two black punks said "what's up, dawg?" I wasn't upset, because I understood that they are an ignorant race. Had I responded with "Nothing, *******" I'd have been stooping to their intellectual level. You, however, seem to have some personal grievance going on. Are you afraid that Jesus is black? Seems like that's your real question. You might want to restate.

They originated in middle east. They had to be of color of people in middle east. Neither very fair like Europeans nor Blacks like Aricans.
