Reasons abotion should be allowed:
Pregnancy as a result of documented rape.
Major birth defects in the child. (like no face or limbs kind of birth defect)
The pregnancy has a high chance of killing the mother.
If any other reasons present themselves, along the line of "I was young and stupid." "I am not ready for a child" or "The condom broke", then you should have the child and put it up for adoption.

I am sorry, but f**k the mental state of a person that doesn't want a child if they willing participated in sexual intercourse. Don't take the life of a perfectly fine human being simply because you are afraid. Grow up, learn from what you did wrong, and put the kid up for adoption for people that would give anything to be able to go through the process of raising a child but can't due to various reasons.

Zander, because it is the taking of a life. I don't kid myself on what it is, and neither should you. I do see how it can be neccessary, but it is also neccessary to kill a grown man sometimes. But killing a fetus because of insecurity on your part, is no different than killing an adult because you don't want to have deal with them at work.

Bellespree,
I believe I metioned that it is fine to have an abortion over the grounds of pregnancy by rape.....
If you mean in terms of consenual sex, unless he is forcing the woman to do by physical means, then it is really not his say in what happens.
I will never say I am pro-life, by the way people, because if it is fine to have abortions in some cases, I have to say that I am pro-choice. And as strongly as I can't stand irresponsible activity resulting in the death of a potentially great person, I also support the reasons for abortion that I have listed just as strong.

To Zander again,
You wouldn't know it if I shot your head off with a .50 calibur rifle from 100 yards away, so does that make it fine from to shoot you? Hell no it doesn't. I suppose you don't have a problem with killing people who are unconcious too? They wouldn't have any knowledge of you doing it. A boxer gets knocked out, he is fair game for murder, because he won't know what is happening.
Flawed logic, you better come up with something else.

To Zander, yet again,
You stated that it is fine to kill something that is unaware of the fact that it is being killed. Sounds like assassination to me.
But you have your own opinion, and I have no right to change it. I just think that you are weird for supporting death, just so long as the person dying doesn't know that it is coming.

To Bellespee,
People that protest abortions like that are retarded. Getting pregnant takes two, of that I am aware, but if the woman doesn't want the abortion, then she doesn't need to go into the place and get one. Ultimatly the decision to have the abortion rests on her, not the guy (be he a prick or decent joe), so they are showing their anger at the person who is directly partaking of the act of abortion.

Women are NOT incubators!
Women have the final say over what they do or don't do!

I don't understand your reasoning of why we couldn't have one in those situations. Why is it right in the first 3 situations but none others?
MORE:
It is very different. In the first trimester the fetus is basically helpless. You CAN simply avoid that person who you don't like at work.
The only way to get rid of a fetus is to abort it. It's not exactly a pretty thing, but usually when people do it it's better for everyone. And don't even try to tell me to think of the baby. It doesn't know it's being aborted. It can't think. It doesn't have feelings. It's not even aware of it's own existence. So don't give me any, "why are you aborting me mommy?" crap.
MORE AGAIN:
Do you honestly think what I just said can be compared to shooting someone with a rifle? You need to learn where to draw the line. YOU KNOW that's not what I think. So don't act so dumb.
LAST:
You've missed the point entirely. Call me pro-death if you want. But you'll be wrong.

I'm sorry, but you don't sound very pro-choice by your question. If you're pro-choice, then the only choices we have are rape, birth defects, and maternal danger. That sounds rather pro-life to me. And why does the rape have to be documented? Are you proposing that the abortion doctors check to make sure the person reported it to the police? Do you know how many women who have been raped don't report it? Most women don't report their rapes either because they're too scared, they think it's their own fault, or they rationalize it so they don't see it as rape. I personally could never see myself getting an abortion, but I'm not about to say that no one else can. That, my friend, is what it means to be pro-choice.

Pregnancy as a result of documented rape!!!
What guilt has done the child to be killed for his Father-well most likely-'s mistake,
for me i largely agree with the other two,coz self comes first ,it is a cosmic law,
But
i am with drowning a time line that determine weather a fetus is a human or just a lifeless mass,
and for me it 120 days, thats when the it become he,,and brain stem activity begins.

Why does NOBODY ever mention the other member of the "killing" team ... the guy who couldn't keep it in his pants?
If you're a man, you have a nerve judging vulnerable pregnant women while absolving the "father of the fetus" of all responsibility.
Additional: No, what I mean is ... why do anti-abortion zealots wait outside abortion clinics to hurl expletives and insults at vulnerable pregnant girls instead of protesting the pig who knocked her up in the first place and is probably at home laughing about it with his buddies?
Is it just easier to pick on lone women? Or do you think men are no longer responsible once they've gotten their rocks off?

Abortion in the light of religon....well...there are two things first to adopt some precautionary measures and second to go for abortion. I think second one is not less than killing a person. Once child is identified, he is like a human being, with a complete personal identifications. If he/she is abnormal, killing him/her is like "mercy killing". Other thoughts like i dont want child is as stupid as saying I dont want my father and want to kill him. If condom broke, why u went for it, now u should have it and feel your responsibilty. Having sex is not only a pleasure but also puts some responsibily. ..... ...

The fact that you placed this "question" in the R&S category says it all. This is not a topic of religion, it is a topic of politics. The great thing about this country is that you are allowed to have your own religious beliefs, but you're not allowed to turn them into laws for others to be forced to follow.
As far as abortion goes, you're entitled to your opinion. However, every attempt so far to overturn Roe v. Wade has been proven unconstitutional. As far as our legal system is concerned, life does not begin at conception, it begins at birth. Any attempt to infuse "morality" into the debate is also unconstitutional, as the "morality" in question is always based on religion, which has no place in laws.
If you don't believe in abortion, that's fine; don't get one. But stop trying to tell other people how to live their lives.
