v29 - "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
v30 - "For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

It has occurred to me that Atheists are so sure of their own believes that they do not see them as a belief but as fact. This is clearly a fallacy as like all religions there is no infallible proof, there are an abundance of unexplained problems such as where the original energy to create the universe came from and why it should explode, how life as complex as it is should form at all and why and how it should evolve beyond recognition if it's original form. Atheism is also based upon people's belief in an ideology. This ideology is based upon people's theories about how we came to be, so they are essentially made up. This ironically is what atheists accuse (other) religions of being, and they themselves are obviously believing something made up!

Do you think Atheism is a religion?

If not then justify why a belief system based on ideology which has been created to explain our existence is not a religion, as to be a religion there need not be a God.

... which would you choose? What would you expect if you only prayed? If you only called 9-1-1? For the sake of the question assume that you are the only one around. That way people can't cop out and say they would pray knowing that other people would call 9-1-1.

Do you mean that God inculcates morality in peoples minds,

or

that we learn it from scripture?

(No right or wrong answers here; I'm just trying to figure out what people think).

Thanks in advance.

I've wanted to ask this for a long time, and it just makes me mad....help me understand...

Okay they have convictions about any other sin that God specifically hates such as, a lying tounge, haughty eyes, blasphemy and so on, but when it comes to that part of the bible where it says homosexuality is a sin[Leviticus 18:22 its a detestable sin and there is mention of it again in the New Testament proving that it was not just apart of the Old Testament covenant], what do they just skip over it? Take it out? FINALLY It has nothing to do with using religion to be prejudice, but instead what God instructed and what he created, the way he created it...Is it simply ignored? I'd like to know how this works! I've seen people claim to love God with all of their hearts and at the same time have this problem!

since Catholicism is Christianity, and it's the oldest and original Christian religion where other Christian denominations have come from, saying that Catholics are not Christians is like saying that there's no Christianity had ever existed at all.

again, my question to all people who say that Catholics are not Christians, are you saying that Christianity never existed at all?

what are your ideas about what their lives are like?

(this is for an essay on western stereotypes about shi'i muslim women in the middle east-- I'm gathering stereotypes. So obviously you don't have to actually know anything about what their lives are actually like to answer this question... just what you assume their lives are like.)

thanks

Paul in Philippians 1:16-17:
“I am set for the DEFENSE of the GOSPEL.” (KJV)
“I am put here for the DEFENSE of the GOSPEL.” (NIV)

AND, In Philippians 1:7, Paul states he DEFENDS and confirms the GOSPEL!

-

Now some ARE defending the Gospel by pointing out the “lack of” the Gospel and the “perversion” of the Gospel in the teachings of other denominations – and this is good – but why do others respond in defense of their denomination…having no real concern (or even understanding) of what the Gospel is?

-
OK – I’ll just go right out and say it:
CATHOLICS defend their "Holy Mother Church"…and couldn’t care less about the Gospel!

WHY is this?

CULTS defend themselves, and not the Gospel!

…I am NOT calling Catholicism a cult (yet), but what’s that smell?

I guess it's kind of a big deal in Catholicism. It seems like everything "good" comes from God and JC, while everything not condoned by the Catholic church is an evil plot of Satan. Is the HPV vaccination and condoms just another evil scheme of the lord of darkness? If so, he really doesn't seem like such a bad guy, what with the prevention of spreading STD's and all.

I have finally realized as an adult, that I cannot consider myself a Christian, as a child I came from a Christian family and of course we always celebrated Christmas, so I guess it is ingrained in me. I really don't think about the religious meaning behind it, I just enjoy the lights, the coming together of friends and family. I love giving people gifts. I like throwing and attending parties. (I am this way all year round really).
I guess I wonder if I should be doing this even though I am not a Christian?
I don't see why not.
Anyone else out there feel the same?

If you ask me it's propaganda and I can't believe people have the nerve to hand this garbage out. You can be certain that if ever any child related to me got this for Halloween I would be bringing it right back to where it came from, along with a few words. What would you do if your child got this pamphlet? How would you react? and Do you think it is ok for people to give these things out to children during Halloween?? I Don't think Halloween is an appropriate time to try and target children with religious doctrine..

PS A friend of mine had this given to her child for Halloween... I scanned it in you can read it at the links above. It is similar to one I got as a child which I still remember to this day.. It was about sin and they used a leopard as an example with his spots being the sins. Disturbing..
