I think the information is fairly accurate from what I can tell. Some of the theories are a little dated. (i.e. That Anat was the wife of Ba'al Hadad. In Ugaritic mythology she is portrayed as an unwed teenager.)

Have the ancient Canaanite religious practices and beliefs had any influence on modern religions? I would say so. Yhwh borrows several epithets and associations from El and Ba'al Hadad. I don't think he would have been portrayed as he is in the Hebrew Scriptures had the Israelites not had extensive contact with ancient Near Eastern religious groups like the Canaanites.

I've included some reading below that you might find interesting.

All of history always has some effect, however small, on the present.
For archaeological evidence, you might want to consider the magazine "B.A.R." They do archaeological review of historical events, specifically that are mentioned in the Bible.
