I've wanted to ask this for a long time, and it just makes me mad....help me understand...
Okay they have convictions about any other sin that God specifically hates such as, a lying tounge, haughty eyes, blasphemy and so on, but when it comes to that part of the bible where it says homosexuality is a sin[Leviticus 18:22 its a detestable sin and there is mention of it again in the New Testament proving that it was not just apart of the Old Testament covenant], what do they just skip over it? Take it out? FINALLY It has nothing to do with using religion to be prejudice, but instead what God instructed and what he created, the way he created it...Is it simply ignored? I'd like to know how this works! I've seen people claim to love God with all of their hearts and at the same time have this problem!

Wouldn't it be better to simply say you'd rather sin? IT IS DIFFERANT IF A PERSON IS TRYING TO CHANGE! I am talking about people who really are christians...

Don't people repent for lying? stealing? all that but they "just are" gay? Isn't there a better way? Yes we all sin but that don't make it okay and I'm asking out of frustration.....and well sick of seeing people use the "but God will forgive me" and the "don't judge me" excuses! God is the judge, not me, and it would be dumb to ask you not to "shoot the messenger" because of the whole persecution thing so keep it comin

Not only that, it explicitly says, "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." 1Cor 6:9,10
The term "homosexual Christian" is an oxymoron.

My grandson is a gay and a Christian, he's open approximately it and is likewise an regulate server at his Episcopal Parish. Being gay does no longer mean you won't be able to be Christian interior the greater tolerant denominations. We actually have a Bishop who's brazenly gay. Denominations like Southern Baptists and different different evangelicals do no longer tolerate homosexuality, yet there is not any longer lots they tolerate. Their version of the religion has little resemblance ot something Jesus taught. Homosexuality grew to become into under no circumstances addressed by Christ and different of the disciples could have been gay. Homosexuality isn't a sin.

I think God really hates the sin of sexual immorality period. So it would be anyone sexually immoral.
Their will be no sexually immoral entering heaven. That's in the Bible, nor liars, practicers of magic.
They can give this sin up for the Lord to take from them. That is what all of us sinners should strive for.
Having said that the only unforgivable sin is blaspheming the Holy Spirit. There must be a place God keeps people until they have fully repented, before entering heaven.
Maybe that's during the time after the 1,000 year reign, and before the second death in Revelations 20.
God Bless!

Yes, I agree. And to all those using the old shellfish verse (in Leviticus) as a sin, that was part of the old Law (Old Testament), which was fulfilled when Jesus came and died and was resurrected.
The New Testament says nothing about eating shellfish, but it does say quite a bit about homosexuality being a sin. You can ignore it or pick & choose which verses to follow, but it won't change the fact that God calls it a sin.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 -- 9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
Romans 1:24-27 -- 24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

I suppose it would fall in the same categorey of a Christian who is also a fornicator or adulter. A liar, a theif.
All are sins and none are perfect, we are all sinners. Having said that, I very much disapprove of the fact that they deny that it is a sin. They, like others say in a false doctrine teaching church, have been mislead. It is possilbe that they really do love God with all their heart, but they have been misguided. We can't be the judge of this because only God knows their true condition of their heart. In a sense, they are following a false doctrine and teaching, their teachers will be held in a higher standard of accountability for teaching such things. Grace is Jesus' to give to whom he pleases, not ours.
i would never say it was okay to be this way, but then I can not pass judgement on them either, if I do, I sin equally.

If you equate being gay with sin, then that is fitting that they are Christians.
1-Jesus' ministry started outcast members of society - poor, criminals and the sick.
2-what makes the sin of being gay any worse than sloth, greed, gluttony. According to what you are saying someone who is rich should not be able to call themselves a Christian, same with people who waste food and dont achieve their potential. Why is lust worse than the others? Who made you the authority on sin and Christian criteria.

How in the world is there such a thing as a christian who eats shrimp? Do Christians just skip over the part where shellfish is an abomination?
Newsflash - Christians pick and choose what to believe from the Bible.

Why do you skip over other parts of Leviticus that makes Red Lobster detestable to God? Why do you skip over the books of Samuel in which King David had a sexual relationship with Jonathan? Why do you skip over the parts of the New Testament that women aren't allowed to speak in church, that they must have their heads covered? Why do you skip over the teachings of Jesus, who accepted all people except those who were too high on their religion horse?

Well as a bisexual man I would tend to agree with you in general...I wouldn't for the life of me want anything to do with any group that automatically regarded me as second-class or intrinsically an "abomination".
But that doesn't answer your question. According to my understanding, isn't it the case that Jesus came to set forth a "new covenant" with his believers, and to forgive them all with his self-sacrifice? Didn't the new covenant Jesus set forth specifically say that all the old arcane rules followed by the Hebrews of the OT were not required of Christians?
If it's not the case that Jesus' sacrifice relieved Christians of the duty to follow all the OT rules, then why aren't you following every rule in the OT, such as the prohibition on eating shellfish or pork? (there are MANY, MANY others as well)
Also, under the Christian view everyone is inherently a sinner, and can only receive God's blessings through his grace. Let's assume you committed a sin by telling a lie (thou shalt not bear false witness...). Does the fact that you are sincerely remorseful and ask for forgiveness for telling that lie mean that you will never tell a lie again? If you say yes, you'll never tell another lie in your entire life, then you're lying right there.
So how is it that Christian homosexuals are any different than you? They admit that they are inherently sinners, just like you do, and they ask for God's forgiveness and grace.
Finally, why is it any of your concern that (in your opinion) Christian homosexuals seem to ignore certain Biblical scriptures? Are they the only ones? Aren't there hypocrites among heterosexual Christians as well, cheating on their spouses, lying, etc.?
Shouldn't you just worry about your own relationship with God and let others concern themselves with their own salvation, rather than caring if they're holding up their bargain with God? Are you perfect? Did God assign you to be their judge?
If you actually believe what you say that God is the judge, not you, then you shouldn't concern yourself with it, should you? If you are correct, homosexuals will eventually get their just desserts with God whether or not you're mad about it, won't they?
If that's the case, then you don't have to concern yourself with it at all, do you? If they are in fact in violation of God's laws, God isn't going to have to consult with you about how you feel about it at all, is he? Or do you feel that God isn't up to the job of enforcing his own rules without your help?
Do you see what I'm saying? What I'm basically telling you is that if what you believe about God and his laws is true, then you're basically wasting your energy being mad over it, because if God is everything you believe he's got it under control without needing anything from you.
Think of all the positive things you can do with the mental energy you're wasting on being mad about this issue, which is entirely outside of your control. After all, homosexuals aren't going to stop being homosexuals just because you're mad, and God doesn't need your help enforcing his own rules either.
So it's entirely out of your control, but there are some things which ARE in your control, such as focusing on doing something nice for a family member or helping a neighbor in need, for example.
Wouldn't your mental energy be far better focused on doing that, rather than worrying about homosexuals, which is entirely outside your control? Wouldn't God be far more pleased that you had focused your mental energy on something positive you COULD change, rather than wasting it on something you couldn't?
