Why I Go to Church.
By bintheredunthat.

I love the chance to sing, my voice sounds ok mixed in with so many others.

But most of all I go because we are asked to keep the Sabbath holy. That is the least I can do to thank G for all my blessings.

Don't think I am a Bible thumper. I stayed away from church for a long time, and felt the call to return. I can't define that call, but I feel good doing what I perceive as the right thing to do. I don't knock anyone's beliefs, and don't let them go overboard to knock mine. I don't bring anything but my truck keys into church with me, but when I have a few extra bucks I will put it in an envelope to donate. Believe it or not, the church has to pay employees, utility bills, repairs and taxes, besides all the charity work they do.

1. At first to learn about their new faith by being around other Christians, hearing preaching from the Bible, and getting help studying the Bible on ones own.

2. To show thankfulness for Salvation.

3. To begin to work for the Lord.

4. In maturity as a Christian it is to ultimately glorify God with every aspect of ones life. Anyone who gets to this 4th level of attendance, can never be stopped from attending Church.

In a Christian point of view
The Church are the chosen people of God
So the Church go to one building to praise and worship God together.
They come together to connect with each other, building relationship with one another and to praise God
For Christians A Church is not a building
It's the Chosen People of God

I think that people go to Church because they feel that, socially and religiously, it is the right thing to do. They feel that if they don't go to Church, that they are following God in the wrong way and will be sent to Hell; which is completely incorrect.

People go for a multitude of reasons...

Some go because they're in need of spiritual healing or advice in their life. Others go because it fulfills their need for God and spirit. There are some devout people who go because they just feel it's the right thing to do. And there are probably many other reasons why people go, it just all depends.

to give them a sense of belonging. acceptance. also to answer the unanswerable questions. Im not religious, im too educated to have blind faith. Religion causes the worlds problems. how many millions of people have died because the church had an issue with them? how many religious wars have their been? terrorism is a religious act. Religion is disgusting and should be abolished, we don't NEED it , the world would be better without it.

The same reason people go to school, and the same reason why people go to a ball game, because they are free to do it and they want to do it. Besides, sports are like religions to some people, and going to church is almost the same thing.

I don't know why all people go. I am sure there are many many reasons, not all of them good.

I know why I go. I go because I like to spend time with those who share my faith. Mass also fills me with a sense of peace.

But I don't go every Sunday. God doesn't care if we go to church. God cares about how we treat our fellow man out in the world.
