Here's why.

Jesus merely "died" for my sins. Whoopdie doo! Ok so he died for a few days, after being tortured for a few more, and now everything's peaches -- he's drinking holy pina coladas floating around on clouds.

What about me? I'll have to spend eternity in Hell for my sins (such as lack of faith). Jesus suffering for me? Bull, my suffering would be infinite compared to his dying for a measly couple of days. It's no comparison. Jesus has no business thinking "his suffering" means a thing compared to all the undeserving hordes being endlessly tortured by Satan.

The Church sees the Scriptures as inspired and authoritive Holy Tradition: the Word of God. It is curcial to understand how the word "tradition" is used in the New Testament, which condemns the tradition of men but calls us to follow Apostolic of Holy Tradition. First of all, Jesus warned againt holding to the "tradition of men" and "your tradition" in the strongest possible terms (see Mark 7:6-16). All Christians agree: The Bible says "no" to man-made religious teachings and traditions. Secondly, Saint Paul warns in Colossians 2:8: "Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principle of the world, and not according to Christ." Here again, we notice the phrase "tradition of men," which the Orthodox Church condemns. In distinction to the tradition of men, the Bible calls us to obay tradition which has God as its source. In contrast to man-made tradition, Apostolic Tradition is our foundation in the Church

Is it possible that you envy
The Pagan that is free enough to dance naked under starry skies and invoke the powers of nature.
The joy that Christians have found
The discipline and faith of the Jew
The inculcation of the Muslim
Do you have faith envy..Is that why you are so hostile to the idea of a higher power?

I'm asking because lots of people seem to believe all races are equal in intelligence, yet that would mean that every race evolved EQUALLY as far as that particular physical quality goes. How does that make sense, seeing that so many other qualities did not develop in the same manner (i.e. hair color, skin color, etc.)? How could every race throughout history have acheived the exact same rate and proportion of intelligence?

is it because they are curious or nervous about their decision to not follow any religion? Do you feel guilty? Left behind? Scared even? If you are so sure that there is no God then why keep asking god fearing people about their decision to have faith in their God? I just don't get it! I don't play valley ball so I don't ask people about it! I have never mud wrestled so that is not part of the conversations that I have with others! That's all I am sayin' why the inquisition about something that doesn't concern you? I await your answers intently.

If you repeat the same answer in every question against the guidlines?

For instance one person says this in everyone of his answers

"Catholics are not saved and are not Christians. Catholics believe a false gospel of works that leads to eternal hell (Galatians 1).

Bible teachers that said the Vatican and the catholic cult are an antichrist: John Bunyan, John Huss, John Wycliffe, John Calvin, William Tyndale, John Knox, Thomas Bacon, John Wesley, Charles Spurgeon, Samuel Cooper, John Cotton, and Jonathan Edwards."

I thought that was against the guidlines, is it?

I am not trying to wind anyone up with this, I would like some genuine thoughts:

I read earlier in the paper that some pro life Christian groups were using the commandment of 'Thou Shalt Not Kill' against abortion.

There appears to be a slight problem with this. Firstly, for example, David was not punished by God for killing Absolon or leaving Achitophel to die - in fact he was rewarded for killing Goliath. The usual answer to this is that the story appears in the Old Testament - but so do the commandments.

Secondly, in the New Testament, God allowed Jesus to be crucified. This seems to be a double standard as the Bible has allowed the killing of a child that God could have prevented and chose not to. If God is allowed this choice, surely we are too. In the eyes of the law, knowingly allowing someone to be unlawfully killed makes you an accomplice.

I am wondering how the view that abortion is forbidden applies, when God allowed his own son to be murdered.

No need for more bashing for an answer. I am really looking for the motivation here. Seems people lash out at Catholics, but not at other religions that aren't "christian" from their point of view. How do people justify or call themselves Christians when they do this, or worse, don't even go to the church of their bible thumping?

There's so much evidence. There is so much feeling. He watches over us as we sleep, He remembers our evils, He punishes our wickedness and rewards our good deeds. ...He takes the time to visit every single person on earth, and yet so many deny Him, even when they look right at what he gives them...They deny, they say it was not Him, not He who sent them their wonderful gifts...It saddens me....

Don't you think we should try and help people who don't believe? Our parents ALL believed in Him. But as the generations pass, belief is being lost...Parents aren't telling their children of His love and joy...Will he forsake us?! Will Santa abandon us?!

Today at work my supervious asked my to clean out half the chicken shed. He asked me to do the half behind the door which I did. I them got him to come and check it was OK before doing the next job. When he came he said that's good now you have to do the other half. I said in a perfectly normal voice why didn't you tell me that earlier? His reply is I just have told you. I said in a normal job they would have told me at the begining. He them said in a normal job you would have got the sack ages ago.

After posting my Q about jokes on Seniors, (where I nearly started a riot) Sorry gang! I would like to add that I am not grumpy, I like jokes, I do laugh and I have a sense of humour.
Sometimes though, I go to answer a question and find out it is a joke. There aren't many answers you can give to a joke because it's not asking you anything. There's me trying to be intelligent and all I can think of is Lol or Ha! Ha! Ha!

Anyway, how come I received so many thumbs up?

When they say their prayers, and you feel like you have to join in in the 'Amen', or else they think you want the dead persons soul to go to hell or something.
Do you join in, like you are just wishing them the best right? even if they are not anywhere now, your memories of them are good aren't they? isn't that just what you are saying. Do you close your eyes or say the words at all? and do you sing along?

My dad came to visit me last night and we got into various race related discussions. While we were talking, he mentioned that he bumped into a former fellow employee who rudely asked if his daughter (me) is "still married to that thur colored." Well, of course, my dad put him in check. But the idiot persisted with nonsense until my dad became angry enough to, umm, let's just say the guy shut his trap and went on his way.

Anyway, before my dad lost his temper, the dude made the following claim about black men vs. white men:

(This isn't word for word but is pretty much what the man said- And I'm replacing "foul language" with what I think are Y!A acceptable terms. I'm also replacing race related terms that others may find offensive.)

"Black men are larger than white men but that only applies to when they're not erect. When us white folk become aroused, we rise beyond black men. The black man's erection is a package that remains the same in size. It gets hard, nothing else."
