many don't believe, but many don't have any thing to believe in, they are without hope, faith or love...you can't change them, you have to accept it....just know that GOD said EACH person is responsible for their OWN SALVATION....so that lets us off the hook for their ignorance....

Hmmm, seems to me a logical explanation would just be lost on you, so I'll take a different approach.
I created this earth when I came into being, and I created everything there is, just as it is today. I created my parents who created my siblings, I created the sun, the sky, the stars, the moon, and the weather. I have no creator, I always was here, and I always will be here. I AM THE CONFIRMED ATHEIST! This is my holy word and now that you have heard it, you have the choice to either accept me as your lord and savior, or drown forever in the icy waters of the cold! Don't forget, I love you, and I am offering you salvation. I created all there is, and I decide what happens to your soul as well as your physical being. So it is written.
You aren't convinced? Behold, I have made the sky blue and the sun yellow, and the moon will reflect the yellow light of the sun and I shall make it white as snow. If it is another color, then you have angered me with your lack of belief! My judgement shall be upon you!
Now then, please tell me why your favorite story is any more credible than mine? Could it be because you believe your story is older than I am? Is it because of the evidence that you see in the world around you? Is it because your own book tells you something different? Aren't you basing your reasoning on evidence that you can see and measure when disproving my claims? Well, that's exactly what I did when I considered your god. Historically, he's a newbie, as many other gods have been worshipped, fought for, fought against, and passed into folklore and mythology before your god was ever even thought of. You may think it's always been there, but some of us know better.

I don't know how those things were created exactly; but we have working explanations called cosmological "theories". We realize these theories are not absolute truths; that is why they are in a constant state of revision.
I would like to believe that God created the universe, but it seems like a theory with some major holes in it. Actually its not a theory at all because it doesn't suffer revision. Theology is what it is, then and now. This is why the doctrine of Christianity, when asked simple questions like "how do we account for free will?" cannot even attempt an answer.
This is why I don't believe: I find God impossible to THINK OF epistemologically. An omniscient being who nonetheless can offer free choice is an even greater fiction than the unicorn; at least the unicorn could exist in SOME possible world.
I don't believe because I prefer to discuss things and come up with my own view. There is no discussion with God. The wisdom of the believer IS like the wisdom of little children--it is short-sighted, fantastical and weak; it is knocked down by the slightest disobedience, the most innocent judgment, the most logical questions.

This earth was created by a catastrophic nuclear explosion at the heart of the universe, when all matter was compressed in a tiny speck. Nature, the Seas, the Sun, the Sky, the Stars, the Moon, were all created in the same way.
Seems more logical to me than some big guy in the sky doing it.
No, I'm not a religious person, and even if I was, I would not be inclined to think that a God that had given us intellect and sense would want us to neglect them.

Well, by God, I sure don't think of it as a "him" or "who" - I reject the notion of a personified God (somebody in heaven running the show and playing with us like we were Barbies). I think more in terms of the creative force in the Universe - that which powers this existence - what's more, I think that if God is an ocean, we are all individual glasses of God. Many say this means that I don't believe in God. What do you think?
I have also heard a theory recently that I find fascinating. It was suggested that we collectively make up the creative energy in the Universe. That our spirits, our essence, as a group have created this existence as an eductional area. The idea being that we exist merely because we wish too - just as humans make a school for their kids to learn in.
Can you imagine that? Whether you like it or believe it or not - can you imagine us collectively from our inner spirit - our own little piece of the God energy, making such an intricate system. Maybe that's why the planet rotates - so a percentage of us remain awake and able to maintain the intention.
There are tons of theories - each of them interesting and believed by enough to get the story around. Individual expression of the Divine should be a beautiful and personal thing, don't you think?
Peace!

Earth: was most likely made by atoms becoming compact.
Myself: was created by, well, my parents, but if you are asking humans, evolution, the need to live.
The seas: again, atoms set up in a different way.
The sun: gases coming together creating a swirling ball of light and flame.
The sky: light being reflected at a frequency that changes into our eyes as blue.
Stars: the sun is a star, see above.
The moon: an asteroid that may have hit the earth or only got caught in the earth's orbit.
Long story short: Science.

You're delusional. You tell me who created God then? If you were born in a different religion you would believe in a different God. You would THINK you were doing the right thing worshiping the God you were taught to worship but you would really be angering the true God further and further. This is an example of why it doesn't make sense. If a true God existed he would likely give everyone the opportunity to get to know him equally. He's doomed some people from the start. How is a cannibal in the Amazon going to find out about 'your' God... the one that you believe is real? He won't find out about him and therefore he is comdemned to hell?

I came from the Earth. The Earth came from the Universe. The Universe came from...nobody really knows.
But to say that it was ALL created by an Intelligent designer only leaves you with another unanswerable question. Who or what created the Creator?
If the Creator has always existed, as "believers" say, then why not just skip a step and say the Universe has always existed?

Not who, but what
If you wanted, I could get off on a tangent about the creation of the stars through compressed gas all of which is going through nuclear fusion, or how the moon was created by an asteriod impact long ago, or even the water cycle for the weather portion (I couldn't help but laugh at the last part)
All of which might be a bit above your comprehension levels, so I'll rest it with "I have my reasons"

There are alot of different answers to this question.
First, if you're asking from a Christain perspective, then there are other religious point of views to consider.
Some people, however, don't have an actual religious belief system and find the purely scientific route to be more appealing (though there are easy reconcilations of the two).
If you're really interested, read some scriptures from other religions and maybe a few books or essays published from within the scientific community.

Nobody created the earth. Nobody created the sun, the seas, the sky, the moon, the weather or me. All of those things are natural phenomena, no creator needed.. It's just the way things happened.
