If by "America" you mean both American continents, then the answer is an astounding yes!

The United States is not the only melting pot, rather the entire North & South America are such. Black slaves were not only brought to the US, but were brought to the Carribean islands (Cuba, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Jamaica, Dominican Republic) all of which are Catholic nations (except Jamaica). Slaves were also brought to Brazil, Colombia, present-day Panama, Nicaragua, and even to the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico. As the Americas are the last real bastion of Catholicism, it is of no surprise that most Blacks on these two continents are Roman Catholic

There are about 3 million Catholics of African descent in the United States.

The 270 million Catholics of African descent represent about 25% of the one billion Roman Catholics throughout the world in more than 59 countries.

Most Black Catholics are in Africa.

Catholic is the third largest religious affiliation among Black Americans, after Baptist and Methodist. There are many urban Black Catholic congregations. Especially in New Orleans.

Yes. We have a number of black families at our parish -- more African Americans than there were at the protestant church I used to attend. One of our newer families are emigrants from Nigeria.

We also have Native Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, Asian, Europeans, etc. Catholicism is for everybody.
