C'mon, don't you get it? It's Ok to "kill" people but not "murder" them.....therefore if you have an abortion you are a murderer....but if you "kill" someone in a war that's totally OK!
So in other words it's OK to "kill" if it SOMEONE ELSE's innocent child (like via war) as long as it's not your own unborn child because that is "murder". Hmmmmm......have to ponder that one as that reasoning totally blows my mind.....
To all the thumbs-downers....Have fun!

First of all, Jesus (as God) voluntarily gave up His life.
Babies don't have such a choice. And because they are too young to ask, but still human nonetheless, we cannot allow people to make the decision for them.
Secondly, the commandment is Thou Shalt Not Murder which prohibits the unjustified taking of innocent human life. Abortion falls under that category.
Just Wars and executions and the like do not fall under the commandment. Killing is different from murder.

Yep, the OLd Test is gone-not applicable.
Jesus did not preach to kill, he preached the opposit-and I believe the commandments are still working, not the laws tho. The laws in the old test were gone, not the commandments-That being said, God didn't "let" Jesus be crucified. Humans had free will, and it was their law system and punishment system to do this. God didn't do this, only man did. God doesn't stop anyone from killing, he deals with them in the afterlife.

First, you have completely forgotten the resurrection, the glory, the reward; etc.
The commandment is "Thou shall not kill." Just because God forgives sin, does not by any means indicate that it is then okay to do it anyway.
Goliath was part mortal and part immortal; He was corrupt and He mocked God. All thru the bible corrupt peoples were killed after given plenty of time to repent and turn from their sins, because if left alive they have continued to corrupt.
Since God is allowing the corrupt to continue to live on today, mass corruption is spreading world wide and eventually the earth and everything in it will be destroyed as a result.
Why is He allowing the corrupt to live on for a time? The book of Revelation must all happen just as it is written.
2 Thes 2:2-12 tells us that when "He is taken out of the way" when God lifts His hand of grace and life off of the earth, it will all start to destroy itself. Satan will come to power and rule the earth for seven years; he will sit in the temple of Jerusalem and claim to be God; he will have supernatural powers and the world will bow down to him. At the end of the seven years, the end will come.
The sole reason life has any peace and any goodness in it, is because of the goodness of God. For He said "I Am That I Am." Praise His name.

For the first examples, Its a question of innocence.
The unborn are always innocent and defenseless.
and the Romans killed Jesus.
besides, for both of these it's still an issue that Man is not God. These laws apply to Mankind.

God took a part of himself and put in on the earth to die for our sins. I don't see the similarities between this and abortion. If a woman is raped or is in medical danger I can understand an abortion. If a girl or women accidentally gets pregnant for the third time because she fails to use protection or she's a prostitute and having her third or fourth abortion then that should be pre-meditated murder. Abortion because of your personal mistake is wrong period. GOD BLESS!!!

god allowed his own son to be murdered for a reason. Abortion is forbidden because once a baby is conceived it is human and therefore you are taking awy their freewill by getting rid of it. a baby is a gift from god. i feel that if you dont't want the baby put it up for adoption as there are a lot of people out their who would love a child of their own to love

Abortion is the killing on an unborn child. I don't use the ten commandments because they don't apply.
Its obvious killing a child is evil. None of the examples you use here even make sense...

“Thou shalt not kill” in Exodus 20 is more correctly translated, “Thou shalt not murder”. This does not eliminate all killing (self-defense, capital punishment for punishment as deemed appropriate by governments, etc.).
As for David, he was punished for his role in killing Uriah the Hittite. When the prophet Nathan was telling David a story, before David knew the story applied to him, David said the person who had committed the crimes described should repay the debt four-fold. David did indeed repay four-fold in that four of his sons died.
As for Jesus, He gave his life. It was not just taken from Him. He said, “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.” (John 10:17-18)
Also, more than being murder, Jesus was killed according to the capital punishment laws of the Roman Empire. Yes it was murder in the sense that the Jews caused the death of an innocent man, and those who did not take advantage of the forgiveness offered in Acts 2 will be judged accordingly, but Jesus was actually killed by the Roman authorities in their role as the established government.
If you will read the account carefully, you will see that Pilot was concerned with keeping the peace. Executing Jesus was a way to prevent an uprising among the Jews. He was very concerned with keeping the peace, and this “punishment” was a way to maintain order.
He was wrong in that he condemned an innocent man, however, in one sense it was not “murder” because the Lord gives governments the right to inflict capitol punishment. John 19:10-11 says, “Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee? Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.”
As for the command “thou shalt not kill (murder)” in relation to abortion, this verse talks about the taking of innocent life. There are none more innocent than those not yet born! Proverbs 6:16-17 say that God hates “hands that shed innocent blood”!
Also “thou shalt not kill” is in Exodus 20. In Exodus 21, there are many examples where death (capital punishment) was the punishment for certain crimes.
Among these crimes, if two men are fighting and they injure a pregnant woman, causing her to have a miscarriage, if either the woman or the baby dies or suffers injury, the punishment for the men shall be “Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.” (Exodus 21:22-25) Here is a specific Biblical example of punishment for harming an unborn child!

it's actually "thou shalt not murder"
i'm not very knowledgeable in OT
but in NT, Jesus was God and chose to die.
to apply that to abortion, the mother would have to ask the baby "hey, do you want to be aborted" and the baby would have to say "*sigh* all right"
i suppose one could argue that Jesus was executed for a crime(a crime He didn't commit, but a crime)
but interesting question nonetheless
