The bible can't be interpreted according to many, it must be taken literally. So why wouldn't I be a cannibal? After all, according to the bible, he's just a man.

I'm sick of reading homophobic statements in yahoo GLBT section. Why don't users just report the question as a violation and have the question removed quickly? Why do people reply to these stupid questions, is degrading yourself for 2 points worth it?

I posted a pic of myself before online and I have gotten the most evil comments from :

1) You are African and 3/4 of Africa has AIDS (I am not from Africa by the way Im just Black)

2) Blacks are ugly

3) and other racist and mean comments in general

What I want to know is what is with these racist and mean comments? I though we were past attacking people on race but it seems as though we arent.

I want to know if me posting my picture is warranting me getting attacked? And why is my race always the first thing to get attacked?

Yes, I know...for the believer, faith is believing something without hard evidence to back it up...as in the Christian's belief in God.
The answers I saw to this question frightened me.
Since when is it a bad thing to have faith in God?
So, people of faith, to you, are just stupid?
And...despicable?? What's with that??

Not only here, but in real life too. Even jewish people who DO NOT encourage converting to their religion, even they try to point you why their religion is the greatest.

What does one have to earn for doing this? (except for christians, cause their religion states they must spread the word)

Most religions believe that in the time of our direst need a supernaturaly empowered saviour will come to our aid.
Some native americans believe in the rainbow warrior, many europeans awaited the returned reign of king Arthur, the christians await the second coming, the jews the messiah, the sunni believe in the mahdi and the shia in the hidden imam, some buddhists even believe a great buddha will reincarnate and the hindu believe the Creator will at one time visit us in a human body again.

Will the Creator chose to satsify each of these groups seperately or will He provide us with one physical manifestation which will satisfy all?

Please only reply if you are an American.

1) If you were to interview someone, what would you expect him to wear? (Assuming that the person is male)

2) In my country it is customary to address the person interviewing you as "Sir" or "Ma'am" How would an American expect me to address him/her during the interview process? Forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question (it probably is) but a friend told me to just address the person as Mr XYZ

Thanks!

I'm putting away my Halloween stuff and I'm tempted to just pull out the Christmas decorations. Obviously it's too early for a real tree but what about the snowmen and santas?

When do you put out your decorations?

Like many white people my age (especially those from the South), I have certain elderly relatives who are prejudiced against black people. I become terribly embarrassed when I hear them say something bad about black people. I still love them, but I hate their primitive mindset. When you become elderly, how do you think your grandchildren will feel when you speak about homosexuals being evil? Homosexuality will be very socially acceptable; and like your good book says, more and more people will have turned away from “Jesus.” Will you leave Christianity behind or will you just stick with it and re-interpret the parts of the Bible that address sodomy so that God condones it? Or, will you just embarrass your grandchildren?

You Christians think Adam and Eve were sinless until they ate the fruit. So therefore it wasn't a sin to eat the fruit. Instead it was simply disobeying God.

So, what's the difference between sin and disobeying God? If they are the same, then what does it mean to say Adam and Eve were sinless until after they ate the fruit when it was a sin to eat it. They sinned in their sinless period.

If they are different, then you can disobey God without sinning. Which commands are you allowed to disobey without committing sin? How would I go about doing that now?
