There is such a thing as communal discernment--while the Bible was not dictated word for word, and God, in revealing himself through the prophets (those who wrote Biblical material) used their consciousness, in all its imperfections, including their primitive world-view and inaccurate scientific facts, there is a unity which runs through the whole Bible, and which holds it together.
The community of faith though the ages, in the face of all its imperfections, is the mechanism for transmission of God's Word.
While no one generation has monopoly to discernment or to the truth, each generation of faith is an instrument of God's revelation to that given age.
The act of revelation through translation is a continuing work since God not only relied upon imperfect humans to proclaim his Word, he also uses imperfect humans to translate this into current tongues and languages.
More importantly, he uses imperfect humans to translate divine revelation into life.

I think you gullible in that you actually believe your own opinion rather than do proper research. No one alive has read the bible. What you have today as "the bible" is a selected writings of the 90 known books and hundreds of scrolls that make up what is considered "scripture". The book of Enoch is in 4 volumes with each volume being 2000 pages long - you could not even lift the cover of one volume let alone read it. But what people consider the word of God and scripture is also beyond the understanding of simple people like you. The bible is considered the "inspired" word of God as not a lot of paper/parchment has survived from the time of Jesus only second hand readings. The scholars and scribes have had to transfer from parchment to scroll to ensure at least some of it survived the ravages of time through the centuries.

If God is sovereign enough to inspire man to write scriptures exactly as He wanted them, surely He is sovereign enough to make sure that the translators don't mess it up, no?
EDIT to add: And this also applies to the books that were chosen to be in the Bible as well!

When you are a truely born again Christian you know, the Holy Spirit within testifies that the word of God is truth. Salvation is by grace thru faith in Jesus Christ. That is how you get the Holy Spirit. Jesus said there is no other name under Heaven whereby ye must be saved. Eph. 2:8-9, if you would like to be saved and born again just pray this simple sinners prayer and you canbe saved today, just pray Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

the people who originally wrote it were inspired. the people who translated it believed it, but just translated it because they were able to read and write.
