Theists are curious in Atheist because humans are a curious being. God has given me the gift of WANTING to seek knowledge and WANTING to be enlightened.
Just as a teacher cannot teach History without the proper schooling, I cannot understand people with different belief systems with out the proper knowledge.
I don't like to be ignorant.
So far, out of all religions and non-religions I have learned about, my faith in the Christ makes the most sense. I like to have something to put my hope in.
Creation makes more sense than Evolution, to me, and I have thoroughly studied both.
I am just a curious college student, that happens to BELIEVE in something.
By the way, I am a Christian, but I do NOT follow "Churchianity" (i love this term my college humanities teacher came up with :D)
I hope I have answered your question to your liking. If not, then too bad.

Two things that are invariably happens everywhere to atheists makes the theists so curious about them:
1. They are mostly intelligent / prudent and live with good manners
2. They are more happy and successful too!

Good question! Whenever I tell a theist that I am atheist they bombard me with questions...most of which start out with "How can you...?" They seem stunned that someone has NO belief at all, so they stare at you and pummel you with questions. I liken it to people who rubberneck at car accidents. They are scared by my belief (or lack thereof) but are fascinated at the same time.

People are always intrigued by what they have not themselves experienced. How does a person get to a place so different from mine? It is a natural thing to wonder at.
One could ask the question in reverse. I am assuming any atheist that is even in a religious section for reasons other than proselytism is an atheist who is interested in others' points of view...

UH....
Excuse me, but this is a forum for questions about Religion and Spirituality.
Atheists come here...so I have to assume that YOU are curious about theists...
And I am happy to see atheists here, and more than happy to try to answer real questions about my faith...although the cynicism and the snide insults do get annoying at times.
If we were in a forum about atheism, and theists were asking and answering questions about atheism, then we could wonder why theists are curious about atheists.

They wonder how the non-religious can possibly act ethically and morally without threat of punishment/promise of reward.
Makes them kinda scary to me since that implies the only reason they do not commit unethical and immoral acts is fear of a more powerful being.

I agree with Jeff S :)
I think it's because they can't understand how someone can just not believe, so they're interested in finding out the "why" part of the deal. Also, plenty of people just can't pass up a chance to convert someone.

I find most atheists rather boring. Others are only mildly interesting. A few I find interesting enough to attempt to satisfy my curiosity, but they are few and far between.

Because they have a sneaking suspicion that the atheists may have found out the truth!

I never considered myself a theist. However, I in general feel that atheists are people that just lack hope and faith. Atheism is a good outlet for longing and despair.
That way of thinking is just so foreign to me that it is a curiosity.
Then again I also kind of fell sorry for them.
