It's sad to see the brain deteriorate like that.

Some theists fear death, some do not. Some atheists fear death, some do not. It's really more of a personal outlook than a theist/atheist thing.

I was not fearful of death before I became a christian. But knowing what I know now, then I would be scared stiff if I was not a christian.

Just because someone understands evolution doesn't mean they do not believe in god or an afterlife.

Other then that, I am guessing fear. Isn't that what pascals wager is all about?

I guess God planned it that way. Why should it matter if you are saved young or old? Dying or fine? it only matters that you remain unsaved!
