Our societies have been controlled and structured by religions for so long that people often can't understand the concept NO GOD..... As people have began to freely question the existance of god... the religions in an attempt to retain this influence over societies of the earth have become skillful at twisting issues.... Atheists questioned the existance of god... but christians never allow even the possibility of that outlook, mind, frame of mind, mentality, way of thinking, approach, belief, or conviction to even begin penetrate human consciousness beyong the statement "how do you know god exists"... What the world is experiencing is a reaction to this oppressive mentality.... The tyrannical, and overbearing restrictions that religions continuously imposing on the world limiting any new knowlege from surfacing is catching up with us .... We live in a day where our spiritual knowlege is totally defined by religion, and every attempt to explore it in an healthy way is quickly overwhelmed by religious outburst.... What happens when a society experiences economic oppression, a revolution, a civil war, a battle to be free... What religions do is create an environment of spiritual oppression that has reached colossal levels.... because religions have gained control enough to even prevent the understanding of the natural purpose of spirit.... Pagans, science, witches, agnostics, and atheists are all a result of humanity's spiritual oppression.

From what I perceive and have been told here, atheists are curious as to what guides Christians to hold certain beliefs. I don't see anything wrong with people asking questions. If atheists are curious about my beliefs, I'm glad to share my thought process and personal experience.
But I've often asked questions of atheists about not believing and it doesn't mean I am having a faith crisis. I'm just curious.

First of all, this entire section is always filled with Christians asking questions about atheism and evolution, so it works both ways.
But you can be interested in a subject without believing in it. Do people who study Greek mythology for a living worship Zeus?

I don't play football, but I do ask a question when I don't know what's going on during a game.
We're just interested in society, and people. A large part of both those things is understanding religion. Do you begrudge us that?

For the same reason that theists keep asking atheists about their beliefs. They are curious about each other.

I'm fascinated that grown, mature, intelligent, rational individuals have been convinced of a myth.
Also, there are no volley ball groups attempting to take biology out of the classroom and replace it with Net Technique.
