actions.............

SCAPEGOATING = A tactic often employed is to characterize an entire group of individuals according to the unethical or immoral conduct of a small number of individuals belonging to that group, also known as guilt by association.

The Jews were scapegoated and singled out in Nazi propaganda during the 20th century.

Hospital Cost Cutting Measures
To: All Hospital Staff
From: Adminstration/Groundskeeping
Date: March 23, 2000
Re: New Cost Cutting Measures
Effective April 1 this hospital will no longer provide security. Each charge nurse will be issued a .38 caliber revolver and 12 rounds of ammunition. An additional 12 rounds will be stored in the pharmacy. In addition to routine nursing duties, Charge Nurses will rotate the patrolling of the hospital grounds. A bicycle and helmet will be provided for patrolling the park areas. In light of the similarity of monitoring equipment, ICU will now take over the security surveillance duties. The unit secretary will be responsible for watching cardiac and security monitors as well as continuing previous secretarial duties.

Food service will be discontinued. Patients wishing to be fed will need to let their families know to bring something, or may make arrangements with Subway, Domino's, etc., before meal time. Coin-operated phones will be available in the patient rooms for this purpose as well as for other calls the patient may wish to make.

Housekeeping and physical therapy are being combined. Mops will be issued to those patients who are ambulatory, thus providing range-of-motion exercise as well as a clean environment. Families of ambulatory patients may also sign up to clean the rooms of non-ambulatory patients for special discounts for their final bill. Time cards will be provided.

As you can see in the "FROM" line above, administration is assuming grounds keeping duties. If an adminstrator cannot be reached by calling his/her office it is suggested that you walk outside and listen for the sound of a lawn mower, weed whacker, etc.

Engineering is being eliminated. The hospital has subscribed to the TIME_LIFE "How to..." series of maintainence books. These books can be checked out from administration, and a toolbox will be standard equipment on all nursing units. We will be receiving the series at the rate of one volume every other month. We already have the volume on Basic Wiring, but if a non-electrical problem occurs, please try to handle it as best you can until the appropriate volume arrives.

Cutbacks in the phlebotomy staff will be accommodated by only performing blood-related lab tests on patients who are already bleeding.

Physicians will be informed that they may order no more than two x-rays per patient stay. This is due to the turnaround time required by Revco's photolab. Two prints will be provided for the price of one, and physicians are being advised to clip coupons from the Sunday paper if they want extra sets. Revco's will honor competitor's coupons for one-hour processing in emergency situations, so if you come across any coupons, please clip them and send them to the ER.

In light of the extremely hot summer temperature the electric company has been asked to install individual meters in each patient room, office, etc., so that the electrical consumption can be monitored and appropriately billed. Fans will be available for sale or lease in the hospital gift shop.

In addition to the current recycling program, a bin for the collection of unused fruit and bread will soon be provided on each floor. Families, patients and the few remaining employees are encouraged to contribute discarded produce. The resulting moldy compost will be utilized by the pharmacy for nocosomial production of antibiotics. The antibiotics will also be available for purchase through the hospital pharmacy and will, coincidentally, soon be the only antibiotics listed in the HMO's formulary

My parents are both retired (68 & 66) and they are asking if there are any places where they can get a discounts, for example: phone companies, electricity bills and water bills. I searched all over and can't find anything, maybe because I don't know what to look under. I have checked the benefits for senior citizens website and it didn't help me much. Would someone please let me know if there is a number or give some advice on how to get ALL the benefits they deserve, since they are over 65. They live in New York.

Thanks in advance!!

Truthfully, I didn't know there was such a branch of Christianity until i met her.

I was curious to see what it was...
but then, I found out that many people have a negative view on their ways of worship?
Why is that?
How are their ways of worship different than other branches of Christianity?

It's really picked up steam since 9/11,with rallies all over the country. Seems to be mostly a group called CUFI and a great deal of background organizing by a Rabbi Eckstein. Comments?

I have been really upset lately on the apathy of Americans and others comming into this country.
I will explain what bothers me but, my questions is, WHY and am I the only one that fears this countries freedom ?
We just got a "quite moment" which is really only 10sec. long in public schools. That could be used to pray, reflect, meditate or hey, put your forehead to the floor if you'd like.
People....Or shall I say "Atheist" have had a problem with this.
Atheist do not want Christians to brain washing then about our religious beliefs but, do they not know they are pushing what they believe (or Don't believe) on us & doing so they are making personal attacks on my Lord & Savior! Our Country has gone wild! We have lost our Freedom to foreigners! They can have there say in everything they want because this is the Land Of the Free...For them! My freedom has been take, robbed! My Children can't say Merry Christmas & much more! This is One Nation under God, deal with IT or PLEASE leave!

tell me what u think and feel as u read this. and for those of u who want to know who this is about, its about me and yes i am young, 12 years old to be exact.

instead of crying,
i will be dying.
the smile on my face will be gone,
and everything else will be shown.

for some, life's too short to see,
but it is too long for me.
let this horrid life end,
there's no need to pretend.

why does life have to be so cruel,
there's no limit, no rule.
people say i am possessed and i can't break free,
but i do not agree.

I am with this guy that is Jehovah Witness and I am not, Im Christian. We are not married yet but one day we will. Well we have talked about some things about his religion and it came to having a Christmas tree and celebrating Christmas with our kids. He straight out told me NO. If i was to put up a xmas tree he would trash it. I told him what about my beliefs and having our kids experiencing the holidays. Again he says NO. Prove it to him that in the bible it says to celebrated xmas. Does he have the right to do this? What can i say to him other than saying....yes there willl be a tree and me and the kids will be celebrating xmas!!

There are so many misconceptions about my religion....I am an Arab-American Muslim and I wonder how people feel about Islam right now......

Is there anything you were always wondering about Islam? I guess I'm just trying to start some kind of dialogue here because I'm really curious to hear what my fellow Americans feel towards my religion.....

I'm a bit confused on the subject of hell. I mean, why try to do good things, you're going to someone's hell no matter what.

If I'm Jewish I'm going to Christian hell, if I'm Christian I'm going to Buddist hell or Hindu hell (or the equivilant in their culture). Why bother trying?

Oh, and are you guys honestly okay with knowing half of your friends are going to hell because they don't believe. I think there's something wrong with saying 'Johnny's going to hell... oh well, sucks for him.'

Comments? or Clarification?

when I first heard about co2 killing the planet I was totally absorbed into it, but certain things don’t' add up.
I when I was at school never told me it was theory, they never told me there are other ways the temperature can increase, and that THERE IS ACTULLY "NO" PROVEN SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE TO BACK IT UP, they make these extreme estimates to scare people, into believing, they brainwash children, by scaring them to, just watch the bbc . At secondary school they shoved it into our heads, it was constant, so know i ask give me proof, not theory **** I seen 100 times over, I WANT EVIDENCE..
AND IF WE ARE GOING TO DIE IN 50 YEARS TIME, WHY ARE GOVERMENTS OF THE WORLD SO LAID BACK ABOUT IT.
they do the minimal amount, all they do is tax us, I’m sure if the world was going to end they would, shut down airports and give us all bicycles
