Jesus is the only role model we should have!
We should be really impressed by some saints, for what they did and what they believed, but we should beware of false idols, whether that is a saint, money, power, pop or film stars, etc!

St. Camillus de Lellis.
http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/saintc09.htm
He had a very rough, violent life, and lost everything he owned. But he was able to turn his life around completely, and came to be a great help to the sick, disabled, and poor. He helped build many hospitals, and spent the rest of his life caring for the sick. He didn't learn to read until he was in his 30s, but humbled himself and learned to read with little children.
I feel that he's a role model because he didn't just give up and decide that it was too late to learn to read, or to help other people. Despite his wasted youth, he became a great servant of both God and humanity. It's never too late to help others and live a life of service and devotion.

Drew Brees. He makes alot of money and gets alot of girls as QB of the Saints . That' s why he's a role model. Soon the Pope will make him a real saint, except he may have to like little boys to succeed with that crowd..

There are so many saints to be named, but the reason for them being role models is because of what they believed in. In a time when it was wrong to believe in Jesus they walked through many trials in their lives. They believed that God sent his only son to save our souls. And because they believed in this they lost their lives. Knowing what they were about to face, they didn't run. I'm sure they were scared like anyone would be, but they stood for what they believed in. Thats why they are role models for us. Stand your ground for what you believe in. If you believe in God stand up for him, We are in a time almost no different to what happened 2000 yrs ago. Very little faith or belief. We have negitive role models for our young and yet they are cool. And when you speak of God everyone shrugs their shoulders. People say there is no God but yet they wake up to a sun shining, to people they love or love them.

2. He followed Jesus everywhere He went and listened to what He had to say.
3. He wrote 1Peter and 2Peter.

Do you know how many saints there are?
My patron saint is Saint Barbara. I took her name at confirmation.
She did not denounce her faith even after her pagan father locker her up and tortured her.
All saints are good role models because they intercede for us. Just as we should intercede for our brothers and sisters.

Saint Francis of Assisi
1. Because he wrote the Prayer of St. Francis, which you should read; it's beautiful.
2. Because his life shows that you don't have to have been 'saintly' all of your life to devote your life to God.

St. Monica.....she prayed for years that her husband would stop drinking believing that God would grant her prayer......and eventually he did stop drinking.
I don't believe in God....but I admire her fortitude to never give up.
