My cousin is getting married today and I didn't want to come to the wedding. I had my brother tell the other relatives and my cousin that I had to work, so they wouldn't it hurt their feelings. I really don't believe in marriages and I don't like going to weddings.

And why don't they believe in the Rupture? What about where it says "And two will be on a date, and one will be taken and the other left."
Calls to 911 will go crazy. Perhaps you'll start believing in the Rupture then, and too late already.
Question: which denominations don't believe in the Rupture?

John 3:5 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except any one be born of water and of Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

(This verse does not say "He that believeth or is baptized" you need both)

This isn't open to interpretation. It's plain and simple you MUST be baptized to enter Heaven. And if you do NOT enter heaven, you are not saved. Therefore you NEED baptism to be saved.

Agree/disagree and why?

Please don't name names! I'm just curious what trends bug you, like an obvious copy and paste with no citing of the source, for example.

And then you say it's not neccessary?

Jesus was baptized. Sounds pretty neccessary to me.

Okay, so if you are SAVED you should get baptized. Why?

Think about it, those who say baptism is not neccessary. If it is NOT neccessary, then what is the point?

Sure I hear the argument of an "outward expression of faith". I know that water does not save you. But why is it in order to be a member of MOST churches you have to be baptized in them?

I'm Mormon, and you have to be baptized to be a member. But I also went to Millbrook Baptist Church and you have to be baptized in order to be a member.

Hm... sounds like it's a requirement of faith to me. What do you think?

"What's wrong with this picture? Can you see it? It's a reflection of a mountain in a lake, but the reflection is clearer than the original image. That can't be, can it? What's wrong is that the picture is upside-down.

There's a similar problem with Christianity. People look at Christians or the church, thinking they have a clear picture of what Christianity is all about. That's where they make their mistake and many turn away from Christ as a result, as did I.

Also, are you guilty of this type of issue? Why or why not.

Thanks for the answers.

Jesus said he was sending someone, and it would be known as the Sacred Phantom. I wanted to read up on this, and the Book of Revelation says nothing. Somebody talk to me.

My cardiac specialist died and at his funeral the coffin was placed in front of a hugh mock up of a heart made up of flowers. And after everyone said our good-byes, the heart opened, the coffin rolled inside and the heart closed. Just then one the mourners burst out laughing. The guy standing next to him asked why are you laughing? I was thinking about my own funeral the man replied. What's so funny about that? I'm a gynecologist.

My last question which started out by saying 'Merry Christmas' was greeted by 7 answers thus far . One had something positive to say , and the other 6 had everything from hatred and anger , to ambivalence and disconnect .

Where Have All The Flowers Gone ? Do You Answer Angrily or Negatively ?
While you're pondering , enjoy this Christmas tune , best remembered from one of the Christmas cartoons(Rudolph maybe) .

Holly Jolly Christmas

Have a holly, jolly Christmas;
It's the best time of the year
I don't know if there'll be snow
but have a cup of cheer
Have a holly, jolly Christmas;
And when you walk down the street
Say Hello to friends you know
and everyone you meet

Oh
ho
the mistletoe
hung where you can see;
Somebody waits for you;
Kiss her once for me
Have a holly jolly Christmas
and in case you didn't hear
Oh by golly
have a holly
jolly Christmas this year

I'm an atheist, and I just wondered how other atheists would feel if it was actually proved beyond doubt. Forget how, just that it was proved to everyone's satisfaction.

Would you be pleased for instance?

Bart D. Ehrman, a one time religious scholar, wanted to do some research and write a book about the history of the bible. He traveled the world, reading ancient texts and studying bibles that dated back to 500 A.D.

What he found shocked him. In the end, he determined that the modern King James Bible was vastly falsified and made up by translators and scribes over a period of about 1700 years.

LITERALLY stories were made up, removed, altered and deleted over and over. What remains is a lie. Mr. Ehrman is now Agnostic. He DID write a book about his findings, its called Misquoting Jesus.

With this empirical, absolute, verifiable evidence; evidence that ANY Christian can verify on their own, they refuse to learn and still insist that the bible is the absolute truth and the word of god. Why? Are they that desperate to believe in it?

This kind of behavior in a child we would call logic denial. What do Christians call it?
