Do misspelled words annoy you as much as misspelled words annoy atheists?

2007-10-27 09:02:50 · 12 answers · asked by I'm an Atheist 3 in Society & Culture Religion & Spirituality

I spelled "Christains" wrong intentionally because misspelling was the subject of the question... why is it that noone picked up on that?

Not really, but I think it does show some respect to read through whatever you write before you send it. At least that what I was taught in school.

The "Spell Check" was put there for a purpose.

I'm not sure how much misspelled words annoy atheists; however I'm sure that varies from person to person as much as anything else does. I think that misspelled words can distract people from what you are trying to get across as well as turn them off to what you might have to say, which is why I try to keep my spelling, grammar, and punctuation looking neat. However, it doesn't annoy me when other people do it.

Well Christain is a pretty fair indicator of how well you spell. However,no I would not refuse to speak to you simply due to misspelled words.

No, we understand you. That, after all, is the meaning of communication, right?

Besides, we have more important things to think about. We can't let a little matter like that sap our mental and emotional energy.

Edit: See, I didn't even notice that you didn't spell "Christians" correctly until 'mortgage' above mentioned it.

I'm a Christian and sad to say a poor speller. It is very annoying to try to read something with poor grammer and bad spelling. Theology is hard enough without trying to guess what one was trying to spell. We have a tool called spell check.

I really don't care for misspellings; as long as the person gets their point across to me I wouldn't critique them for their mistakes.

No. I don't think God cares about spelling errors.

Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to the lamb. Jesus is Lord.
