I know how you feel, I use to just cry at night because I wanted God to talk to me like he talked to them, or even an angel like Mary had . It seems like Gos does not do ANY of the Miracles today that he use to do all the time back then. I have learned that I have to keep faith, that God is doing works much differently now, see I don't think God speaks to us in an audible voice but through other people, the bible, and our dreams, I think he shows us things so we can better understand because I guess... Actions speaks louder than words
Keep your faith, he'll reveal himself, be patient

No one can see God at any time(i meant by bodily eyes) but naturally he or she cannot hear God's voice, so what God does, He chooses a man amongst men as messenger which we say prophet of God for e.g Adam, Noah, Lot,Moses,Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them all) who receives the messages from at a very high frequency and translate at a wavelenght which we human can perceive,now these messages r read out to humans for there benefits.
Therefore we humans cant hear the voice of God leave aside receiving any reply.

Are you born from above (born again)?
If so, then pray in spirit & truth. Claim the verses in the bible that you can come bodly before the Throne of Grace in hour of need. Read verses of asking God for wisdom because God gives wisdom liberally if we ask without doubting (James).
See? You need to renew your mind in the Word of God. The Holy Spirit speaks to you what the Lord has said. Brings Gods Word to your mind in many different ways. And then Godly understanding of what God is telling you happens.
One verse. Be still, & know God Is.
God will talk with you. Abide in Gods Word & Gods love & He will answer you.
I know. God talks to me every day. I abide in Christ 24/7. I pray in spirit & truth every day.

He dose speak to us. But it is through a feeling in our hearts and mind. Asking God about something and having peace that it is the right thing to do is God saying "Yes". If you get an uneasy feeling after asking God a question that is "NO".
There are times that God speaks to us where we can hear it with our ears, but He speaks to our hearts more than anything.

Why not listen to what he said to them - READ THE BIBLE. The Bible is God's Word. And he speaks through his apostles, "And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe." 1Th 2:13

Because you won't listen - that's why. Instead of demanding to hear from God, just be willing to open your heart and hear what the Lord has to say to you.
