Why do so many christians on here believe that they wouldn't have got through bad events in their lives without their god? Who told them that they wouldn't be able to do this? Are they all unable to sort out things for themselves without believing an imaginary friend is guiding them?
They are all quick to say that god saved them, but unable to say how.

The scriptures says "Bad association spoils useful habits"

Is it wrong to associate with someone that practice things that is contrary to Bible teaching?

e.g. (1) Even though I know that I'm not guy and that I would never become guy. Is it wrong to be freinds with someone that is guy?

e.g. (2) Even though I know that I'm never going to smoke, or do drugs. Is it wrong to associate with someone who smokes marijuana?

e.g. (3) Even though I know that nothing would stop me from beleiving in Jehovah's love for me, and practicing my religion. Is it wrong to associate with someone that doesn't beleive in a God or has a totally different religion from mine or disagrees with the teachings of my religion?

Your opinion would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I'm a Sunday School teacher at a Christian Church. I believe in God and do my best to be a good person. I don't believe in judging others for their differences because my belief is that if we live our lives and try to love one another and teach forgiveness and tolerance that it is the most important thing. I like my church because it has an open door to anyone in the community regardless of their lifestyle or place in the world unlike other churches who would and often do turn some people away.

However, while going through the lesson plans for Sunday School (Which are actually written up by another individual) I found a bottle of vanilla extract and a bag of cotton balls. I guess having the kids smell vanilla from the cotton is supposed to help them remember bible verses that they learn later in life.

I didn't do it. I taught them the lesson, but left out the vanilla extract. That seemed a little brainwashy to me. Am I right?

Thus we cannot say that God exists or doesn't exist until we die and see him/don't see him. So long as the wave function is not collapsed then God is neither in a state of existence nor non existence.

I'm no expert in quantum physics and hope that I have the basis of a reasonable theoretical question and I hope it is technical enough to keep the Fundamentalists away.

I feel guilty causing people to lose two points when I delete the question, but at the same time, I don't. They should have really thought about their answer or explained why my question wasn't worth their time.

can you remember one that got stuck in your head and drove you batty? I recall going to Disneyworld years ago and couldn't get "It's A Small World" out of my head for weeks.

I think hubby has an iPod in his head. He is always singing something and every now and then one gets stuck in there and it's all I hear. I have to tell him to shuffle so he gets off that one and onto another.

do such bad things and are mean to others still get things they want. I help everyone and try my best to do what is right and still God is not allowing me to have a baby which is the one and only thing I have wanted all my life. Don't get me wrong God has blessed me in many ways but I want this more than anything. Why am I not allowed to have a baby you think? Could he be waiting to bless me with on later in life for some reason?

I have noticed a bit of hostility lately between hereditary witches and other Pagans such as Wiccans.
Can you explain to me why i am getting the idea from some of the things i am reading that our path is not worthy or valid? Or as 'good' as your own path?~ Do you feel that Magick is something you must be born to?
Please understand i am not trying to antagonize you~ just trying to understand!

The type of mood where everybody ought to stay out of your way? You're dealing with issues you have little control over, and you know everything will work out at some point? You don't necessarily want to be in this mood, but you know you're in a mood and don't even want people around? Tell me about it, then please make me laugh.

I saw a tarot reader/numerologist recently. The reading was very accurate and I would like to look up the meaning of some of the cards that were drawn. I think they may have been greek mythology tarot cards but I'm really not sure. There were cards like 'The storyteller', 'Air'- or a travel by air card, a card about guiding and teaching children that I really want to find, a card about not wanting someone to touch u, etc. They also had little pics of runes on them that corresponded. Does this sound familiar to anyone and does anyone have a link to these. thanks!

So many restaurants now offer car-side carryout. I thought typically with carryout I don't tip anyone. But, I ordered car-side carryout yesterday and the customer in the car next to me tipped the worker who brought it out to their car. Was I suppose to tip too? If yes, how much?

Recently there has been discussion because our state Biology classes cover the theory of Evolution but do not promote the discussion of "Alternative theorys". Some people generally of religous backgrounds have said they think Creationism should be taught too.

I was wondering what type of syllabus would be applied in this situation. What would actually be taught in a "Creation" lesson. Is there anyway I can read a proposed syllabus relating to this topic or even better I would like to see a lesson in creation being held.

Do you have a reccomended syllabus for this, or a video teaching the subject so I can better wrap my mind around what teaching creationism actually means?
How much class time would it take?
What would be actually taught?
What experiments or examples of this in action would we have?

Note: I am asking this in R&S because I know Creationists are here.
