I feel guilty causing people to lose two points when I delete the question, but at the same time, I don't. They should have really thought about their answer or explained why my question wasn't worth their time.

I don't give thumbs downs. I rarely delete. But sometimes people just did not answer the question with more than one word or a nonanswer. Those people were not helping me. They were helping themselves get to the next level here. So I guess my real question is: why do I still feel bad deleting the question? Is it coz I wish someone had cared enough the way I do, or is it coz there is something wrong with deleting, to my way of thinking....

When I am depressed, I really don't want to look over my resolved questions and see where no one cared.

The person's probably gonna get best answer on this, unless someone else comes along. But I just wanted to say in response to that one: "I know. My questions were ABOUT and RELATED to troubles with communication between the person who sets up my emergency appointments and emergency med changes."

I'll always choose a best answer even if the answers are not that good.

I usually don't ask a lot of questions, but when I do, I always give a best answer to someone, regardless of what answers were given. I don't delete questions to lose people their points, like they're in a classroom or something and I'm the teacher....I don't think anyone really cares anyway if they lose 2 points or not, it's not like you've ruined their day or "gotten back" at them, or they're gonna cry and slit their wrist cuz you took 2 points away....Its Y/A....for pete's sake....it's not their home, car, or kids.

I've only ever deleted two questions (that i remember).
The first one, noone answered...and it was before i knew i could get back my five points. The second one...time was about to run out and i only had two answers and both were wrong. I didnt feel bad in that case. But i usually will pick the closest answer and only give it one out of five when all of the answers suck.
And you're right...people should really take a minute to think out their answer before clicking submit. I usually do.

I have had similar situation. If indeed no one answered the question you asked with more than one word, feel free to delete the question and maybe even try posting in another category. If you got answers to the question but they are poor, choose one and give it a low rating. In the comment, say it didn't help you much.

If a question gets throughout the answering era devoid of solutions Y!A deletes it. Having a question devoid of answer to it cluttering up the database is amazingly pointless in spite of each and every thing. perchance your single answer replaced into stated & deleted - then you definately're back to a question devoid of answer situation... If a question is going into balloting mode & 'no superb answer' wins the vote, the question is deleted via Y!A. If a superb answer is stated & deleted, the question gets deleted besides. :o)

I used to always choose a best answer. I realize most people just use this site to "communicate" or feel connected to other people and get away from their home lifes for a while. I'm wondering if you do the same....

You should not be turning to Y/A as therapy, or help with what sounds like depression at the very least. See your medical doctor and/or therapist to help you with that. Y/A should be fun and enjoyable. People often don't answer my questions-that's okay, I just send it to voting.
