If Jesus is God incarnate (God in human form), then the whole trinity came to earth and died when Jesus died. Is that true?

Why are some Christians Racist and Homophobic?
I've seen plenty of programs where Christian speakers have condemned coloured people and Gay people, one person (who had many supporters) even refered to a black person as "someone God had left in the oven too long"

Now if God created everything blah blah blah then why are black people seen like this? And if he has given everyone their own choice because he loves us so much then why is being gay seen as wrong when it's there choice?

I am just curious. Obviously, if you know me, you know I am not trying to convert anyone. I am a borderline atheist myself. :o) I am just wondering if anything has ever happened to you that doesn't support your usual atheistic reasoning. Maybe some weird incident that doesn't really have an explanation? Maybe a weird feeling? A ghost sighting? hehe.. you get the idea.

Let's hear it..

Do you consider atheism as your religion? It is, after all, a set of common beliefs you share - just the belief of God not existing as opposed to the belief he does, and I've seen people just as passionately "fundamentalist Atheist" as I've seen for the other side, too. And, likewise to the theists, I've seen people disavow any arguments presented to support the idea of God simply on the pure faith that he doesnt.

Just seems to be that the only true non-religion is agnosticism, where you dont know and dont care....

I know that some are very critical of proselytizing. But Jesus commandment is to make disciples of all nations. Disciples of Jesus Christ, the Word of God.

So, how is converting people from the error of his ways different than proselytizing?

Let him know, that he who converts the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death & shall hide a multitude of sins (James4:20).

of me? You know the kind I'm talking about. He's in the military and deployed to S. Korea for a year. He asked me for some, and I don't mind. Trust is not an issue here. The question is, is it a sin to take those pictures for my husband?

So...I would like to write my life story, for my children and grandhildren. I would like even more..to write my Dad's life story.
Where we came from

..the simple fact that we exist is "proof" of a creator? Do they not realise that exposes them as intellectually challenged?!

I find it amusing to imagine people all over the planet trying to answer such a complex question as "What are the origins of the universe and life?", when so many seem incapable of answering much more mundane questions here on YA!

Ask your local vicar such a simple question as, for example, "what causes the Northern Lights?" and (s)he may struggle to answer…yet ask the much more challenging question of life, and they will confidently give you a whole host of answers which, luckily for them, require no proof or great intellect to comprehend.

Is "something simple enough for me to understand" the only explanation that will suit a religious mind?

And no…I do not claim to know the answers to the big questions either, but I do not invent answers where there're gaps in my knowledge. (Although I certainly hypothesize based on the available evidence)

I believe in God. I don't expect everyone to.

My own beliefs about God differ from those of other Christians.

Then there are other religions entirely.

What you believe or don't believe is your own business- why do people put so much effort into trying to prove each other wrong? I ask this of people on all sides of this big debate- as a Christian and wife of an atheist.

And before you start- I know as Christians, it's supposed to be our "duty" to spread the word of God and "save" people- but face it- nobody's getting saved unless they want to be- so why make ourselves look crazy by trying to force it? You catch more flies with honey..

I have a 13 year old son that used to be a great kid. Unfortunately, I think some liberal teachers must've got to him in school and I recently caught him kissing another boy.

The Bible is pretty clear about this sort of thing. My son threatens the salvation of everybody in the house. I don't wan't to kick him out, but I also don't want to lose my chance at eternal paradise just to keep him around.

Is there a compassionate way of telling my son that I never want to see him again because I want to go to heaven? Or would compassion be a sin, afterall, he is a sinner. In the Bible, Lot's wife was turned into a pillar of salt for looking back at God's utter destruction of Sodom. I don't want to turn into a pillar of salt or go to hell.

and I have about a baby shower a month. The last one was for a co-workers 16 year old daughter! While I realize she needs baby stuff too, I can't afford to go on like this! Some are wedding showers, but most are for people I really don't know all that well. How do I excuse myself and not feel like a cheap jerk? (The showers are held at work) Thanks
