If he has a reason that is right for not to work and if he is prudent, he will wait, till she realize it and for anything otherwise, if she is prudent, she would prove, that she is right in going to the job, making him to accept! So, both has to have their mindset to maintain their respect to each in allowing to have their independence to be decisive in their own interests! But at the end, he must make her feel comfort and secure in him, to maintain the happiness in home all through life!

Why would a husband not want a wife to work? Extra income is good for everyone. The husband needs to be sure he has legitimate reasons such as the cost of childcare will be more expensive than the wife's salary. Otherwise, if this is a male dominance/culture related issue, the wife should consider wether or not she wants to stay in the marriage, because its very unfair. The wife will be happier and more content in her life if she socializes with others and feels valued for skills that are in addition to homemaking skills.

Time to move into the modern age, I guess. If the wife finds satisfaction in a career, why would her husband not want her to pursue that?
I could see a compromise being necessary if the wife DIDN'T want to work and the family needed the income, but this isn't the husband's decision.

Ultimately, it's not the husband's decision on whether or not his wife works.
The bible probably says something about the woman's place being at home, but the bible is a load of rubbish.
If a husband doesn't want his wife to work it should be a discussion between the two of them and if she doesn't mind quitting that's fine... but ultimately it is not his decision to make.

Then the husband needs to communicate his expectations in a clear and civil manner.
If the wife does not wish to comply then the husband will need to learn to communicate his dissatisfaction in a civil manner and agree to disagree if a compromise cannot be reached.
Then enjoy the extra income while you have it.
Easy right?

wow ..where is this clever husband..?i hope he will run a party ..who would acknowledge that as mother and staying home..a wife does many jobs..
well if his wife wants to work..that's ok..give her the freedome..and see what is happen..some women cheat their husbands at work..
tha's it he should have choosen a better wife! who would be very happy for this honour ....actually reality..cos God said man should work(outside)..woman should give birth..anyway..it is enoough after taking care of a baby everysecond..and being his servant..and teacher and god..i think a woman should be exhausted..and never look for other job..except it is an artistic job..-painter etc..or the job of a boss.who goes to work what time he wants..and don't has bussiness in media..

wives don't work? When does that happen?
LOL
Seriously I don't know the circumstances. I am not sure why the husband doesn't want her to work and why she wants to. Personally I aways dreamed of being married to someone who just wanted me to stay home and be domestic but have always had to work outside the home. I don't understand it and have prayed about it but just accept it as God's will for right now. Prayer is the only thing I can recommend in this case. Prayer to see your situation through the eyes of Jesus is the wisest one I think.

Not the husband's decision to make, in my opinion.
Hopefully the wife will stand up for herself and tell you to shove it.

Heck with that, if my wife could support our family with her wages alone, I would be jumping at the chance to be a stay at home dad.
