To "except" beliefs means to disregard them, so your question doesn't make any sense.
Try "accept" next time.

That situation is not really possible. Nothing anyone can do can change what you believe inside, barring mind-control or brain-washing, which would make your question a moot point. One can play the game on the outside, and still hold their true beliefs on the inside. That said, I wouldn't want to live in a place where I was forced to believe what I don't want to believe, even if I was faking it. Honestly, you ARE better off dead than to live in that society. You are going to die someday. It's a fact of life. May as well die with dignity and self-respect. As Patrick Henry once said, "Give me liberty, or give me death!" If you don't resist, you can't change things. That's a fact of life, too.

I would die a horrible death because of the conviction that I have received from God that what I believe is true. I've thought about this question a lot in the past and know without a doubt that is what I would do. All the pain is worth it not to give up on God.

I would follow God and trust in Him. If the other beliefs are contrary to God, then I know God will be with me, whether I stand up for my belief in Him or die a horrible death.

Depends on what those in "power" wanted me to believe. I believe in God and no one could make me change that belief. I'd rather die the horrible death than face the after life without him. In response to the first answer you got, no, God is not there to make your life miserable...just the opposite. He's there to bring you out of the depths of sorrow, not put you in it.

Strange, most people don't act the way that they think they will in situations like this. Often you take the option to live in order to continue working to overthrowing the cause of the "horrible death".
Hypothetical questions may help you understand some of your thoughts, but as they tend to be extremely limited - they rarely model real world situations well.

Die... no one can force belief. That is why the Muslim idea of believe or die is stupid.
You have to be brainwashed in false belief and then bury your head and never look up.

There's a Dorothy Parker story about traveling on a Pullman car. The fellow in the upper berth passed Parker, who was in the lower berth, a note. She said she had a hard time deciding whether she was more offended by his suggestion, or by his grammer.
In your case, ma'am, it's your offensive misuse of the word "except". It entirely changes the meaning of what you ask.
And in revulsion, might I suggest that you find the fellow in the Parker story, and accept his suggestion, repeatedly?

See the other answer regarding "except." I would surely disregard those beliefs if I did not agree with them.
I think that you meant to say ACCEPT the beliefs of those in power.
Is that what you meant to ask?
