I was reading somewhere that, statistically, people with a higher IQ are less likely to have as much religious faith as those with a lower IQ.What do you think?Does having a higher level of intelligence coincide with disbelief? At least on average?

For instance, a person with an average to low level of intelligence who sees something they can't explain might think it's a miracle and leave it at that while someone with a higher level of intelligence sees the same thing and can and will scientifically examine it, find the cause for it, and then explain it.

Also, from a religious stance, a person is less likely to question what their religion tells them.Whereas someone without belief in religion is more likely to question everything in order to arrive at a conclusion rather then just the stated one.

he see your reasons for switching as self-centered and weak?

My friend is Christian, she prays before every meal so I think she is devoted to her religion. Her birthday is coming up and I'm thinking of getting her a Jesus bobblehead. Is this not a good gift? I'm not trying to insult in anyway, but I just think it would be a good surprise.

My fellow republicans,
Last night I kissed a man named Terry and I learned something. We are wrong about gays. I was wrong and I taught my boy wrong. It turns out that being gay is not a choice. Trust me I tried and it did'nt work.

The members of the Log Cabin Republicans did'nt choose to be gay but they did choose to be republican. Even though we used bashing them as the backbone of our last presidential election they're still sticking with us. My God, these people love America as much as they love brunch.

You know what else is a choice? Being a democrat. Democrats weren't born democrats they chose to be democrats.

Do you want manufacturers of super tight t shirts to go out of business? Would you foresake Plato and Socrates?

I'm not telling you to stop hating. I just want you to hate where hate deserves. Hate we're using on the gays is hate we could be using on the democrats. We should'nt discriminate against gays we should get more of them to be Republican.

My M.I.L. has been one for a few years now and has become a happier person because of it. I am a preacher of a small non-denominational church and I am appalled at how some posters respond to/about J.W.'s Granted, we obviously don't share the same views, but all of the J.W.'s I've met have always been nice and really seem to try and live their lives the way God instructed US all to do. Why then are some of you so mean??? Seeing some of these answers gives me a great idea on what my word will be this Sunday. Love thy neighbor...

I am going to a state university in California for an accounting degree. I always have thoughts that because of this i will not find a good job because no one wants a student from a state college. So far i have a 4.0 GPA and found a job as a bookkeeper/accountant to gain experience in my field. I am considering joining clubs and doing community service in my junior and senior year. I went to a cal state school because of money. I needed to help my family, so for me to go to a university was impossible. My ultimate goal is to get my MBA from a top 10 program, but i fear that they will never accept because i went to this school. The school is accredited for its business program, but i still feel like i will never get a good job or go to a top MBA program. Should i worry about this or is this something in my head? Thanks for any help or advice!

I was studying German using a no translation method, and after a lesson presenting completely new grammar, I've spent half an hour trying to figure out the grammar in it, so here's where I got so far:

Die Knie/Hand
Die Hände des mannes sind auf *seinen* Knien
Der Kopf des mannes ist auf *seinen* Händen

Der Tisch/Gesicht
Die Hände des mannes sind auf *dem* Tisch
Die Hände des mannes sind an *dem* Gesicht

Das Ellenbogen
Die Hand ist an *seinem* Ellenbogen

Are those things correct? And either ways, how come we still say:
Der Hand des mannes ist auf *seinem* Kopf / Although we say "Der Kopf"

er berührt seine Nase

in seinem Mund
an seinen Mund

And a logical translation would be nice.
Thanks.

answer only if u are fluent in spanish&do not use a translater.if i translated something wrong, plz correct it for me.Thx.Last week, I went on a trip to the river. While I was there, I took long walks.Every day I would walk two miles along the river and watch the scenery at the same time.It was very relaxing.I also went fishing and caught two beautiful salmons. They weighted ten pounds each and I was very proud. However,I released them because I did not want to kill them. But the weather was very cold and there were a lot of mosquitos but I had a nice time anyway.

Ok, this is completly hypothetical.

Let's say Darwin was proven to never have existed. He was just a myth, or a collaboration of many people. Would that affect how you viewed evolution at all?

Here's another hypothetical question.

What Jesus was somehow proven to never have existed. He was just a myth, or a collaboration of many people. Would that affect how you viewed Christianity at all?

Please, if you are here only to spew hatred towards Blacks or Whites PLEASE take it somewhere else. I'm so tired of seeing us turn against one another. I just watched Nightline and learned that the Jena 6 beating victim was at a school function that very night? I was under the impression that he almost died. Are the Jena 6 being overcharged? Also, I don't know exactly what led up to the fight that caused this young man to be jumped on.

I remember high school days where these types of fights happened all the time. We got suspended, not incarcerated.

Your thoughts?

anybody doing anything to try and stop them? or have most people just accepted that this is going to happen and are just going along with it?
or maybe people live in denial maybe realizing they might exist and may pose a threat to humanity, but their to frightened to accept it and try to do something to fight them?

i have read alot of these conspiracy stories on the net about the illuminati, and i'd say if it is a hoax or just balony, the conspiracy theorists have constructed some damn good, indepth, detailed reasons, and explanations for the illuminati and their motives and plans for it to be a simple fabricated lie.

so the question is,if the illuminati are a realistic threat, and are based on evil, corruption, power, greed and are basically set out to enslave us..
why is nobody doing anything?
has everybody just accepted that it will happen and thats it?

has'nt anybody got it in them to fight that? is that it?
are we just going to accept it and fall in to control & order?

I asked another question about religion and I got this answer:

Luke 14:
18: And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
19: And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
20: And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

My dad is gone and my mom has to work very hard and doesn't have time to go to church or take me to any religious thing.. Am I going to Hell just because of my very selfish father? I have lived my life well and haven't commited any major sins.. I am not perfect but I am not racist and I do not enjoy insulting others..
