Depeche Mode and The Cure.

There will always be a new fad. I suppose emo was bound to happen at some point. Public media/entertainment doesn't help. But like I said, it's a fad and hopefully it will go away soon.

I blame MCR and the likes for making emo gay. As for the birth of emo, I think it started with Depeche Mode and others. I like them though, I didn't even know they were considered emo until recently.

I blame people that wanted to be 'punk' without being dirty violent, and well basically everything punk stood for prior to emo. I don't particularly like Punk either, but it kills emo.
