My friend is Christian, she prays before every meal so I think she is devoted to her religion. Her birthday is coming up and I'm thinking of getting her a Jesus bobblehead. Is this not a good gift? I'm not trying to insult in anyway, but I just think it would be a good surprise.

Jesus Christ died an excruciating death on the cross, for hers, mine, and your sins. He wasn't guilty, as we are,but loved us that much. If your friend believes that, understands that, I'm sure she would find it incredibly insulting and insensitive. Of course, her being a Christian, you also would be forgiven for your ignorance.

Honestly even if your intentions are good, it would still be safe to get her something else. It may not be totally related to her faith but something that would make her appreciate your thoughtfulness. Personally, I don't think getting her a Jesus bobble-head would be a good surprise. Being a friend, I am sure there are other things she would rather enjoy or like (such as reading materials, cute stuff, accessory or clothing, anything useful at home/work, etc.)

I understand you don't mean to be offensive or insult anyone, I guess it depends on the person. I would consider it offensive, as it makes Jesus into a joke. I really don't like that. Again though, it depends on how she would feel about it. If she is devout, my guess is it wouldn't be so funny. But I don't know her. I guess if you have to ask, you might be thinking it won't be well accepted either. Follow your heart, not your head.
Peace

It would be offensive to me. Think about the things she does and he way she talks, as well as her family. If they show reverence to God when anything religious comes up, I wouldn't take the chance of doing something like that.
