Why did Luther add the word "alone" to Rom. 3:28?
"man is justified by faith [alone] apart from works of the Law". Protestants believe that man is saved only by faith. But doesn't it say just the opposite in James 2:24? "You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone," and James 2:26
" . . . so also faith without works is dead,".
Why do Protestants believe in salvation sola fide?
Plus, since Luther added something to the Bible shouldn't that make him accursed as it says in Galatians 1:7-9?
". . . there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." (KJV)
I'm not trying to answer my own question. Just trying to make you think. I'm really interested in what you have to say!
