A. The part you said "created in the image of a monkey" shows two things : You are a creationist that finds everything needs to be created. You are ignorant of the evolution theory.
B. The part you says "God created us in his image" shows that you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about and goes around thumbing on the bible, literally.
I suggest you read BOTH the evolution theory and the bible fully before you ask another question again.

For "god's" sake, please learn something about evolution before trying to look informed ! (if reason won't convince you, maybe your god will?)
Humans and other primates share a common ancestor from millions of years ago. Evolution describes the change of species over time due to a process known as natural selection, which favors beneficial hereditary mutations. These processes have been taking place for billions of years, since life first emerged.
The value of a scientific theory is not whether or not it confirms some soft feeling about religion or existence. A theory is about what fits the evidence. I'll say it again: Evidence. As in data, facts, observations.
Evolution best explains the variety of life on earth. There is no other view on equal footing. Why is it considered less splendid if all life is related by common ancestry -- if this beautiful panorama of living creatures actually stemmed from the same source, and grew in complexity over time?
Really, why do you need "instant supernatural creation out of clay 6,000 years ago" in order to feel special for your existence? Isn't a 14 billion-year-old universe infinitely more ancient, and graceful than literal myths?

well, your question is flawed in so many ways. first, since there is no god, that can't be the right answer. and since evolution says we didnt come from monkeys, that can't be right either. im going to say that there is an invisible and undetectable Flying Spaghetti Monster, which created the entire universe "after drinking heavily." All evidence for evolution was planted by the Flying Spaghetti Monster, in an effort to test Pastafarians' faith; a form of the Omphalos hypothesis. When scientific measurements, such as radiocarbon dating, are made, the Flying Spaghetti Monster "is there changing the results with His Noodly Appendage."

As an agnostic, I can conceive of no logical reason that a Creative Entity (God or Original Consciousness) could not or would not incite the Cosmos via the Big Bang or ensure its continuance through the process of evolution. Unless one interprets the bible or other religious texts literally, there is no essential conflict between belief in a Deity and that being's applying scientifically viable methods of creativity. Additionally, it is fairly obvious that "God", being invisible, has provided us no photographs of "himself"; thus, we have no concept of his "image". How then can we claim to know that we are "created in his image"? There is ample evidence in museums that hominids, the ancestors of the species homo sapiens, did not resemble us as we appear today, thereby substantiating the theory of evolution as opposed to the myth of Adam and Eve which makes no sense in the real world!

I believe in evolution, although you clearly don't. Evolution doesn't say that we evolved from monkeys, nor were we "created in the image of a monkey." It says we share a common ancestor with them.
Try to get it right next time.

Ah, this is a complicated question that is actually not that complicated. So I'll try to give you the short answer - and hopefully you'll be interested enough to research it some more. After all, life's about independent search for truth!
First, God: since He is so much exalted over humankind (like a human is to an ant) and the fact that He has no physical form (and is therefore sexless, but "He" works), we could not be literally in His image. The way we are in His image, though, is that we reflect His virtues like love, honesty, wisdom etc.
Second, science and religion must agree: I know that sounds rather controversial, but religion can not just be blind belief - nor can science be pure proof. However, at this time, there are some things that can not be scientifically proven. But there are also things in science, like the Big Bang theory, that require a major amount of faith. I mean, how did an entire universe come into being from an explosion of - what? Where did it come from?
In a nutshell, however, I believe that humans have always existed, albeit not in the same form that they have today. Please feel free to read more from the sources below.

At what point did the Theory of Evolution say we were created in the image of a monkey ? I dont remember that from any of my studies ! Like it or not.....Evolution is REAL.If we didnt evolve; we would still be banging rocks together in a cave somewhere !

Evolution does not teach that we were created in the image of a monkey.
Plus, you have to define what "in His image" really means.
I do believe God created man and brought life on Earth.
I also believe that Evolution has occurred and is occurring. Now to what extent has evolution resulted in the plethora of species that we have today. That is what we are all still trying to figure out. That is the "theory" part of the Evolutionary Theory. It is a fact that Evolution occurs.
