LET IT SHINE -

The real power of Christ's light makes itself known when it shines forth in life's darkest hours. If we have been given adversity, we have also been given a good opportunity to witness.

It doesn't take the Spirit of Christ to be nice to nice people, nor does it take any divine spirit to be generous when one has wealth. Show me a poor person who sacrifices his own necessities for the welfare of strangers. Let me see persons who remain kindhearted to people who mistreat them. Show me a person who knowingly passes up a chance to destroy their enemy. When a person does these things, they are not acting according to human nature, but against it. The most valued attributes of mankind do not come naturally to the human animal; character borrows from the divine.

No matter what our situation may be, there will always be a profound way to represent our Lord. Christianity is extreme and we shouldn't settle for mediocrity or allow our walk to become a shuffling gait. Our best witness is a life lived for Christ!

He says that we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Let God be true and every man a liar.

I would say that the atheist made a mistake. I have seen generous, nice and sacrificing people that are also down-trodden, poor and reviled, not to mention ignorant of Christ. Adversity often brings out the best in humans regadless of beliefs.

It is an ispirational thought though, the only other problem is that your best witness is having rational thought, real evidence and then a well lived life. Your living your life as Christ would have is nice, but many, if not all, of us will not even consider returning until hard, cold evidence is presented.

Nope. I don't need a deity to know that when I sacrafice something (time, effort, emotion, money) and it has no benefit for me whatsoever, it is truly a kind act then. Selflessness does not require a faith...it requires deeper thinking into what it is to be human and humane.

Like accepting all people and allowing them to live their lives without judging them on ANYTHING. Even a murderer has their reasons-it doesn't mean they don't need to be punished or removed from society, but actually understanding their motivations might actually help it from occurring again in another person.

When you attribute anything that humans do good EVER to a God, and everything bad to human's innate nature, I begin to wonder whether atheists or Christians are the optimistic ones in this tapestry....

False. Many people who are not Christians are altruistic and empathetic.

It is the nature of the human animal to be social, and thus altruistic and empathetic.

There is no god, never was, never will be.

A true atheist will not ever believe in any sky fairy.
