Can you define what is "the word of god" or "god's word" ?
Does your definition apply to bible?
but don't just say bible is the word of god... because it has been revised many time, written by 4 or more people, and some are against each other..

Well.. I am a christian myself.. I have to confess that I don't often read bible as I thought is somehow reading history will make yawn. but I will never fail to attend Sunday service and listen to sermon.
There was one particular scripture quoted on bible. The soldiers was having wars at that times should be BC don't know how many years ago. One of the great man prayed and shouted to the sky to stop the sun from setting so that they have enough time to rest and more time to prepare their weapons as when sunset they are going to fight with the other troops.
As God is faithful to them. He stop the sun for whole day and most amazing thing was the scientist of the modern days did a research on this... Indeed there was this day in thousands of years ago, the sun was stop for a day and that is the day that God has stopped the sun for his people.
Sometimes I find so much debate will not come to conclusion if bible is real we benefit.. if bible fake we don't lose anything.
But I still choose to believe not becos of the bible.. is because those words is from my God and that is His promise to His people and nations.

Quite to the contrary, I do use logic. When one properly researches the Holy Bible, proper understanding of it is possible. Even, Archaeologists use the Bible on digs. The Hebrew University at Jerusalem is one example which comes to mind. It is by assumption that you have arrived at your conclusion about the Bible. The Bible is the world's number 1 seller and is the only book to still be with us after thousands upon thousands of years. It is the only book, which deals with the past, the present and the future with stunning accuracy. A lot of intellects feel threatened by the Bible because of the fear it will prove to be true; therefore, denial, discounting and plain rejection of this book, is a popular tactic employed !

Because I studied a list of 270 contradictions in the New Testament alone and none of them disproved the Bible. Also I learned ancient Greek to see if the Bible was mistranslated and I found that the Bible stood up very well. I've also taken a class on Philosophy of Religion and we studied everything from Hinduism to Buddhism to Islam and Judaism. This was a secular college by the way.

If I am correct, you're asking what makes me think my bible is correct. That is easy. Nothing. No one, including God Himself, can make anyone do anything. He gave every person on this earth free will. We are free to choose to do what's right in God's eyes or what's right in our eyes. You can either believe that the bible is 100% God's Word or you can choose to believe that it is totally bogus. No one can make you or convince you that the bible is correct if you choose to believe that the bible is just a book. In fact, you will never understand or believe what you read unless you read it with your heart instead of your brain. God is not logical and does not operate logically. He is perfect in His nature and operates in perfection. So, no I don't use my logic. My logic is foolishness to God. I just use His Word and apply It to my life and watch the profound change for the better that It brings.

When we STUDY our bibles as God tells us to in 2 Tim 2:15, it makes perfect sense. The Bible is the ONE book that makes the claim to be "God breathed". What kind of God would leave His Creation without an instruction manual?
He also tells us that our "logic" is flawed due to this thing called "sin". We cannot trust logic to lead us to the truth, as our logic has been twisted by something we cannot control.
He tells us to take Him at His Word, which IS the truth, and that we can be "transformed by the renewing of our MINDS"...as we learn to think as HE thinks and NOT as the world thinks, we SEE clearly that the Bible is "RIGHT ON".

Yes I use my logic and rationale all the time. Sure there is a faith factor because our logic and rationale is limited to only understanding and grasping the natural realm when so much of the Bible speaks of supernatural events and truths.
Yet I can use logic and rationale to easily conclude that the Bible is credible.
***UPDATE***
The Bible NEVER contradicts itself theologically.

Well, I challenge you to live as if God and his words were true and see if it doesn't produce in your life something better than what you have right now. I think that sounds logical.

Years of continued study. Years of introspection. Study of my beliefs and other beliefs and nonbeliefs. Testing those beliefs against reality to see which makes the most sense of reality on a consistent basis. How did you decide yours?
