Superstition is ingrained in humankind. Religions, governments and Emperors have tried to curtail the belief in superstitions and failed. The only thing that can be done is remove all malice and pain from superstitions. Counter-superstitions can do this. Lets take the superstition that causes young women to be sexually mutilated. Begin and spread as widely as you and everyone you know can a "superstition" that anyone who takes part in such action, or approve of it, will become sterile, impotent, and incontinent long before they are old.

If by "superstition" you mean Hinduism, I would not recommend it. Slaughtering the followers of a religion because you don't agree with it does NOT effectively spread your message and does not work in the long term as there are still European-pantheon Pagans.

For example, the worship of the Greek Gods is making a comeback and the worship of the Norse Gods never died out entirely......

Why would we want to? How many people on this planet believe in Bigfoot, alien abductions, and so forth? Throw salt over their shoulders, won't walk underneath ladders, won't cross the path of a black cat? All of these are superstitions and myths, and they're not just in India. Open your eyes and see the big picture!

What is wrong with superstition, especially if it's not hurting anyone??

If you are referring to the main religion of the country....then you need to grow up and learn to be more accepting.
