While I was doing a customer's makeup (I am a makeup artist), my coworker kept asking me to use my phone. Since I was in the middle of something, I gave her the phone so that she would stop interupting my customer. My coworker then said thanks and left to go home. Long story short, she put my cell phone in my customer's purse. I have no way to call this customer, only an address that may be outdated. So far, she has not returned my cell phone. What would you do?

Wouldn't you find Islam to be not very...compatible with us?

I've always viewed us as a progressive, free-minded people. Islam is strictly conservative in many cases, and this is reflected through some of those who practice it (that old dog Khomeini not being the least of them).

I've never considered Islam to suit us and our cultural "mindset", if you will. But what do you think?

In old world religions, it was the standard that a god would have a female consort, the female to the male side. Yahweh, the God of Christianity and Judaism was no exception. Found in both non-Israelite documents and from Palestine and Hebrew documents, it has been made obvious that Yawheh also had a wife: Ashtoret (Anat). She was worshipped along side Yaweh until almost the third century BC.
The question is, then, if a female goddess was along side the male God, how would that change the religion of today? Do you think both the religion and the societies would have stayed patriarchal for so long?

Coming to the Lord to have that special time with Him. How have your times with Him been of late?
We all go through so many ups and downs. Some of us are discouraged, some of us are experiencing such a long dry wilderness, some have become somewhat cold or have lost that joy joy joy joy down in our hearts...
This question is truly one where I would love my brothers and sisters to share of where they are at. How the Lord is working in their lives to draw them back to Him.
Please be free in you testimonies and may the words shared give others a way to go on. May much prayer for one another come out of this time of sharing.
Your sister

I notice how everything about god through Christianity is pretty Egotistical. If you don't believe in him, he doesn't believe in you, you are only put here to celebrate him, and he is this all seeing all knowing infinite being of wisdom and knowledge? I would think that an all seeing all knowing infinite whatever wouldn't even give a **** if you celebrated him or not. What kind of all knowing, all loving god be such an egotistical jackass? To me it sounds like christians themselves are full of huge ego's too. Christians believe they are the only correct path. That after they die, there souls will be in eternal bliss? Sounds to me like they just can't accept the fact that they will be dead and forgotten. What do you think?

i had a stillborn at 21 weeks gestation. i was on beddrest before my water broke for one month. during this time, of course, i prayed and prayed. My pastor even wanted to do a laying of the hands (i'm christian). but by then it was too late.

my baby died because i had an amniocentesis. the results of the amnio came out "very good". i only mention this because a lot of people try to comfort me by saying "god took your baby away because maybe he was deformed or had problems". he didn't.

so i'm still bitter about the whole thing. I know God didn't intentionally do it but he ALLOWED it to happen. i don't understand why a child had to die. Did heaven cry for me? was god there when i delivered my stillborn? i didn't feel like he was. I'm so mad at Him. I feel like he could have done something to help me but he didn't. I didn't look at him after he was born -- how will I recognize him in heaven?

the fact that most of our politicians are Christians, and almost all of those holding the highest offices are Evangelical Christians -- and most Americans say they would never vote for a candidate they knew was an atheist?

How can atheists claim they have a equal voice in this country when they don't even have equal representation?

With their near 1 billion dollar revenue, you would think they would give back to the community or set up programs for the needy like most churches do. IN fact they were one of the 40 highest grossing companies in New York City in 2001. But instead I guess the members of the Governing Body are sitting on golden chairs and wiping their fannies with $100 bills.

Where is the hard earned money of the witnesses going? The workers at the Watchtower Headquarters in Brooklyn live in crappy apartments and work hard for free. Where is all this money going?

The brain IS the mind, which is the person and the person is the soul. Brain death is the end of the soul, spirit or whatever you call it. Is a brain damaged person still the same spirit? They generally are NOT the same person. How can a "spirit" or "soul" be differentiated from the person?

I would really love to know why if you dont believe in god he would send you to hell. There are plenty of other religions so its not even a matter of there only being one and accepting it or not.

There are several so why would we go to hell if we happen to "guess wrong"? I mean realistically speaking, if there was really any way to prove the christian god existed, there wouldnt be a need to argue over which one is the right one because we'd know. And anyone who rejected him would be in denial.

So since there is no proof at all whatsoever, and there are other gods being worshipped, how are we supposed to know which one is the right one?
