Can you honestly tell me that 22-100 years is a fair sentence?

Do you think that would be justice?

Bonus question: How long are the the guys who beat up Rodney King in jail for?

The people who beat up Reginald Denney are known gang members. They even threw up signs at the camera...

WTF do you expect?

And how are you gonna say that he is in the wrong place at the wrong time when there is a riot going on? Why would you go to the city

I'd be happy if this story went away for life. I'm tired of hearing about it.

No, I honestly don't believe it is fair. I do believe that the sentence should be harsh and jail time should be involved. Not only for the black kids, but for the white kids as well, who were involved in the earlier beating. At this age, these "KIDS" are practically adults and know right from wrong. People need to be taught that the only time it is ok to put your hands on someone else, is when you are defending your life. They don't learn this lesson, by giving them a slap on the wrist. I saw in Ms. Lady's post above mine where it said "its just another school yard fight. this happens ALL the time." First, I want to ask if this bothers anyone else? It happens all the time? I am sorry but I do not want my children going to a school where this happens all the time, specially when a 6 on 1 lynching is considered a school yard fight. How degraded are your morals when you consider this nothing serious? A school yard fight when I went to school, was one on one fight over something stupid, like a girl. No one went to the hospital and fights like these happened may be once every couple months. Usually by the end of the week, the people who were in the fight are friends again. Yea, keep on handing out probation or trying them in juvenile courts and see where we are in another fifty years. I say punish all involved, swiftly and harshly, regardless of race and may be it will set an example for future students.

No not fair, but they did break the law and did commit assault and need to be held accountable for their own stupidity.

And why would you ask about the "guys" that beat up Rodney King, they lost their jobs, they lost their pensions and all they were doing was their jobs. Mr. King is a thug, always was, always is, and was resisting arrest.

How is this, how long did the guys get who dragged Reginald Denny from his semi truck and smashed his head in with a cement block? He nearly died and all the poor guy was guilty of was being in the wrong place at the wrong time. His life was changed forever because groups of people decided to act like animals.

Buy hey, just my two cents.

For Mychal Bell 20 years would be fair. Besides this, he's committed 4 other violent crimes (1). So he's at 5 now. He isn't even 18 yet and he's been convicted of 5 violent crimes. How many chances are you willing to give him to murder someone?

Hey grabbinit, if you're going to bring up the fight in which the black was atacked, you could at least mention the events surrounding the attack. Like how the black was at a party to which he was not invited and he refused to leave. (2)

Or in the gun incident, the white was in a parking lot, heard 1 of those 3 black yell "we've got action" then run towards him, and then he grabbed the shotgun (2, 3)

Hey Female Junior, you talk about him going to a party, but you neglect to mention this "party" was a ring ceremony at school, and that he left early due to pain (4)

I notice that most of the attention is on the aftermath and not the initial incidents that caused the problem in the first place. Some people are totally missing the one sided racist justice in that place. An ALL white jury convicts African American teenage boys of attempted murder when 4 white teens who badly beat up an African American teen was signed over to their parents! There was no attempted murder charges against them! And then a white teen pulled a gun on some African American teens who took it away from him held him down and called the police but instead of the white teen being charged with assault with a deadly weapon they charged the African American teens! STARK racism! This could have happened in Any Town, USA! That shows the underbelly of the beast and that nothing has changed. Putting on a mask of progress doesn't make that progress real.

Take the race out of the equation for argument sake. Say they are ALL Asian. The 6 kids should be expelled for the rest of the year. IF there were any injuries then the parents of the victim should be allowed to take the parents of the 6 to court to sue for hospital bills and damages. But when the race is thrown into it, it becomes a whole new thing.

Or how about the guys who beat up Reginal Deny. Who is "you guys"?

Me guys? No. I wouldn't want the Jena 6 to serve any hard time. They're just punk kids. They messed up. A few years supervised probation should do the trick. That's probably what they'll end up with anyway.

EDIT: Pepe, you and your ilk continue to talk yourself in circles trying to justify the unjustifiable. Forget your heart and use your head. You know damn well I'm right. You just wish I wasn't.

No that is not a fair sentence and it not justice. So now everytime there is a fight they going to charge kids with attempted murder. The kid who got beat up went to a party that same night come on let be for real.

I will be happy when we can drop this ridiculous pretence that Whites (aka Americans) and blacks are members of the same nation.

Being subjects of the same government does NOT make you the a member of my nation, or vice versa....

Being members of the same society does NOT make you the a member of my nation, or vice versa....

A "nation" is a tribe with modern institutions; by definition the enemies of your tribe, are not, repeat NOT, members of your nation.

If you think they are, you either don't know what the word means or you don't have a nation anymore.....

Bonus question for you: how much time did the black thug who smashed a 40lb. cinder block against Reginal Denney's head
as he lay helpless in the street after being dragged from his truck and beaten unconscious..His crime; being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

This occurred when blacks disagreed with the Rodney King verdict. Ring any bells?

I think that the Jena Six should be cleared and the legal authorities who created this nightmare deal with the consequences of implementing unfair justice.
