i am 16 years old and bisexual, i have a boyfriend who lives in california i live in north carolina, i met him on the internet, he is 17, i know wut he looks like, i talk to him through im and phone, we have been going out for 3 months now. when school started, my dad found out i was bi when he overheard me on the phone with my bf and there was some dirty talk between us, he got pissed off, yelled at me, cussed me out, he kept saying i was confused and needed help. He then took my phone away. i was so upset. later my mom found out after she found a package that my bf sent, containing a card, 2 rings, a cd, a wrist band and some pictures, she was disgusted with it, but she said she is a very open minded person. after that thinks just got worse for me and my bf, i hardly get to talk to him. everyone at his school found out he is bi and things r going badly over there. i love him so much, i would take a bullet for him, he would do the same for me, i want him here so badly. wut do i do?

I found out this weekend that my 18 year old brother is taking hard drugs. I knew he smoked pot and thought it was just a phase, so didn’t worry about it, especially as I’d be hypocritical, having had my share of the clubbing scene. Although seeing where my brother was this weekend has made me feel so sick I shall never touch another drug again in my life.

However, when I found out he’s smoking skunk most days, and that he’s started taking class A’s too… My heart broke. I found out where he was (he hadn’t been home all night again) and went to get him. The place was disgusting, kicked in walls and grubby sofa… Looked like a crack den, reminded me of trainspotting. I found out also that he’d been trying to drive his car when off his face, when it was off-road and the brakes weren’t working. He had crashed it the week before, doing 80 in a 40 zone.

I panicked and told my family what he’s been doing, including my brother who is a policeman.

I know all the roots and stuff. I know I have to believe (which I do) and I know that it takes time, but I've tried a lot of things and still nothing. It's been at least 2 weeks. Should I be getting any results soon?

Plus, some easy excercises would be lovely. :D

In answer to a previous Q, Monkey Man said, "The person above seems to challenge atheists to say that God doesn't exist. You cannot prove a negative. It is up to you to prove that God exists which haven't done and I say ever will." I agree that this negative CAN'T be proved, and neither can God be proved. For a believer, the absence of proof is called Faith. But i challenge the general statement that negatives can't be proved. Is this scientific?

For reference see the following verses:
"Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men."

"Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." (Colossians 4:6).

"Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?" (Luke 14:34).

"For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt." (Mark 9:49).

"And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt." (Leviticus 2:13).

"But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt." (Genesis 19:26).

God is speaking to Solomon...
"but if you or your sons at all turn from following Me, and do not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them, then I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them; and this house which I have consecrated for My name I will cast out of My sight. Israel will be a proverb and a byword among the peoples."-- 1 Kings 9:6-7

Solomon and his sons did as God told them not to do. Solomon worshipped false gods and his son let the kingdom become divided. When you read this don't you get a different perspective on God's promises. If God said he will destroy the Temple and cast them out of the land then you better believe He would do it.

I am a Christian but have been having very un-Christianlike thoughts lately (sinful). I know that if one thinks it, it is as bad as doing it and I don't want that so, how could I get these bad thoughts out of my head? I am serious and would appreciate some serious answers...not jibes from non-believers.
Thank you and God bless!

My husband is possibly going to get an offer for us to move to Romania. The thing is, we're needing to continue receiving some of the items that we're getting now (ex: my daughter is allergic to milk and soy so she needs Rice Dream Milk, we use all natural Melaleuca house cleaning products, need that shipped).
Is there a way for us to establish an APO, FPO, or some other kind of post box where we can have these items shipped to us? I can get the items from the UK (items shipped to a box in the UK, then shipped to Romania), is there something set up in the UK where our items can be shipped to Romania? (both companies: Rice Dream & Melaleuca do not personally send to Romania)

What religions/denominations believe in the apocryhpha (dubious origin of books) of the Bible?

2007-09-17 05:19:33 · 12 answers · asked by vfangue 2 in Religion & Spirituality

Monotheism is the true belief in the God of Abraham which is why Jews and Muslims do not believe in the Trinity.

"The three-in-one/one-in-three mystery of Father, Son and Holy Ghost made tritheism official. The subsequent almost-deification of the Virgin Mary made it quatrotheism . . . Finally, cart-loads of saints raised to quarter-deification turned Christianity into plain old-fashioned polytheism. By the time of the Crusades, it was the most polytheistic religion to ever have existed, with the possible exception of Hinduism.

This untenable contradiction between the assertion of monotheism and the reality of polytheism was dealt with by accusing other religions of the Christian fault.

The Church - Catholic and later Protestant - turned aggressively on the two most clearly monotheistic religions in view - Judaism and Islam - and persecuted them as heathen or pagan.

The external history of Christianity consists largely of accusations that other religions rely on the worship of more than one god and therefore not the true God.

These pagans (JEWS AND MUSLIMS) must therefore be converted, conquered and/or killed for their own good in order that they benefit from the singularity of the Holy Trinity, plus appendages."

I think I am gay and the only way to run from the fact is to get a job which keeps me away from the phobics. I am in University studying commerce and also studying for certified public accountant of Kenya. I have tried weird jobs like asking about joining the intelligence service(something I am good at from childhood brainwise) I am however shortsighted(not feet for other forces). In Kenya being gay is hard and so I think I may have to shift to another country. If only I could get a sponsor to take me abroad(we are a poor family). I tried to commit suicide while in high school but thought it would end after school(I was once about to be lynched). The same people are in University, I am now planning suicide after everything fails. I once went to a psychologist cause of depression after school(I do not think he realized) I had failed terribly and had to repeat(no one knows why I failed)

I've been reading through a lot of questions in the religion and spirituality section in relation to tarot and i've noticed that a lot of people have a very bad view of those who read tarot or tarot cards in general, and not to pick on anyone but a lot of 'questions and answers' i've seen seem to come from christian members of this site. i don't understand, of all the time i've used my tarot cards i've never associated them with religion in any way, or 'god', or 'the devil', nor have i ever read about tarot being 'demon-praise' as i read in one answer. never heard (or read) anyone 'badmouthing' tarot use until now, its completely unheard of to me....i'm baffled...and thats not easy... Am i missing something? Whats the history here? I'd love to understand this from someone's point of view from the other side of the fence..where does the bad image come from?

don't you think the name Earth is a bit too plain? I mean we have other planets called after the Roman gods, why wasn't OUR planet called after a Roman god or goddess (for example, Ceres - the Roman goddess of the Earth)? Earth is such a plain and ordinary name...

and if you had a chance to rename it, what would you call it?
