God has always existed at the margins of our understanding of the world (universe) around us.
God used to control earthquakes and other natural disasters, but as we approach a more full understanding of these phenomenon, then a mythical supernatural being apparently no longer needs to be responsible.
The sphere of things over which god has influence, narrows as human understanding increases.
Of course... only for those humans that care to explore the science behind natural phenomenon. For those who are secure in the knowledge that a deity controls all that they don't understand- then god is still there. Just hanging out at the edge of their desire or capability to understand.

God set up the planet in such a way that earthquakes and other natural disasters happen.
Why do good people suffer, even though they are innocent? Nobody knows. Google "theodicy," for more information on that question than you ever wanted to know.

Nothing but the Earth controls natural disasters. Why people insist on believing that GOD has a hand in it is beyond me.
Some of our other neighbouring planets have such turbulence
which can be far worse. Is God responsible for that too?
Lets be sensible here.

Indirectly, yes. God decides when each and every one of us will die. You only happen to notice it whenever a natural disaster does it, instead of something like old age. But a person who dies of old age is just as dead as a person who dies in an earthquake, so why do people act as if it is different?

God write laws (likes ones that inspired Newton: Gravity) and keep it runs whatever happens
so, if anything start (like in the Chaos Theory) from one of God's pre-defined point, there must be connection to the results
But, I also believes in "human-power:mind/knowledge/ilm", If you doing it right, God may helps you lever the rail-switch.
It's like: Soil need something to attach to, when you digs around it, leaves no-trees ..do not praying that soil not to erosion.
In fact, I believes that miracle is also another form of God's Law (we just don't know how, yet). Like: Splitting The Sea, Splitting The Moon, Summoning The Dead

Nothing happens without God's "permission". He is aware, and allows all things, but their reason for happening can be from different sources. In order for God's perfect plan to work out, He must allow us a choice, otherwise we are just amusing puppets. So in order for us to really have that choice, He has settled on a given time that He is allowing our "free choice" to have its effect. Of course no one knows how long that time period will be, but a lot of the things that happen on and in the earth can be traced to human decisions. He has given us authority over everything on earth, and there is a spiritual realm that is attempting to aquire that authority from us all the time. We need to be careful about all of our decisions, because we can inadvertantly give away that authority quite easily, and then we are stuck with the consequences. Even our words are very important, and they have authority in them. We cannot expect to understand it in a simple one-sentence way, but we can expect God to meet us where we are, and lead us to a place where we can experience peace about the things that bother us. He is accessible.

well God can control everything, but he usually responds to our prayers.. Everybody dies sometime, but nobody is innocent, we have ALL sinned. But when nobody is praying and asking God to help us, then he doesn't.
If 100,000 people in New Orleans had truly been praying and serving God then I don't think the hurricane would have done so much damage. But New Orleans is widely known for other things than prayer.. Just my opinion.

Because people must die. It is the order of things. The old must be swept away to make room for the new. We are already overpopulated. Hell, if God really wanted to do us a favor, he'd start killing MORE innocent people....

A fly was walking across the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Sometimes things seemed quite bright. At other times they seemed very dark and sombre. He couldn't appreciate that he was walking across one of man's greatest masterpieces. Similarly, we can't stand back far enough to understand the light and the dark parts of creation.
To appreciate death you first need to understand that for a Christian it is promotion rather than the sack.

All have sinned. There is noone perfect, but i get your point. My belief is that we all have a purpose in life, and when that purpose is fulfilled, we go.
God washed his hands of this world when they crucified Jesus, so i believe he lets this world get on with it for now, and when enough of his followers have spraed the gospels worldwide, and people have chosen the right/wrong way, he will return for his people, and destroy the rest.
